They are intended to be used by manufacturers, system integrators, applications developers and developer s of wi reless communications equipment.

The GM47 is protected with AISI 304 stai nless steel covers that meet the environmental and EMC requirements.

These signals can be used in Hands-free or Porta ble Hands-free mode. Hands -free M ode This mode is used for audio accessori es, such as c ar kits and hands-free equipment.

GM47/GM48 INTEGRATOR’S MA NUAL 50 LZT 123 72 63 R1C The table below shows the audio signal levels for AFMS. 2.6.3 Micropho ne Signals MICP and MICN are balanced di fferential microphone input pins. These inputs are compatible with an electre t microphone.

GM47/GM48 INTEGRATOR’S MA NUAL 52 LZT 123 72 63 R1C 2.7 PCM Digi tal Audio Figure 2.4 shows the PCM (Pulse Co de Modulation) digital audio connection for external devices. Th ese connec tions can be used to process PCM digital audio signals, bypassing the module’s internal analogue audio CODEC.

SYSTE M CONNECTOR I NTERFA CE 53 LZT 123 7263 R1C 2.7. 1 PCM Da ta Fo rmat All of the module’s PCM signals, including signals between its CODEC and DSP conform to the PCM data I/ O format of the industry standard DSP from Texas Instrum ents. PCMCLK (bit clock) and PCMSYNC (frame syncronisation) are both generated by the DSP within the modu le.

UART1 has RS-232 functionality. UART2 and UA RT3 behave a s general-purpose serial data links.

Conversion between the module CMOS levels and RS232 levels can be achieved using a standard interface IC, such as the Maxim Integrated Products MAX3237.
2. SYSTE M CONNECTOR I NTERFA CE 57 LZT 123 7263 R1C RTS and CTS are capable of transmitting at 1/10 th of the data transmission speed for data rates up to 460 kbit/s (byte-oriented flow control mec hanism).
GM47/GM48 INTEGRATOR’S MA NUAL 58 LZT 123 72 63 R1C Data Terminal Ready (DTR) DTR indicates th at the DTE is r eady to receive data. It also acts as a hardware ‘ha ng-up’, terminating ca lls when switched high. The signal is active low. You can define the exact behaviour of DTR with an AT command.
2. SYSTE M CONNECTOR I NTERFA CE 59 LZT 123 7263 R1C 2.8. 5 UART3 - TD3, RD 3 (desi gnate d for fu ture use) UART3 is a full duplex serial communication port with transmission and reception lines. It has the same timing and electrical signal characteristics as UART1, TD and RD.

Conversion takes place whe n an AT command is sent to the module.

4. HI NTS FOR IN TEGRAT ING T HE MO DULE 71 LZT 123 7263 R1C Sign al Stre ngth The module has to be placed in a way that ensures sufficient signal strength. To improve signal strength, the antenna can be moved to another position. Signal strength may depend on how close the module is to a radio base station.
