7 Congratulations on the purchase of a Sonim XP3300™ FORCE mobile phone. This phone is a GSM/GPRS/EDGE enabled handset with quad-band capabilities and has an intuitive, feature-rich user interface, which allows you to make the best use of the offer ed functions.
8 PRESS & HOLD Means to press and hold a key for 2 seconds before r eleasing the key . This action is typically used when trying to switch on/off the phone or when using shortcut keys to access specic functions. For example: press and hold 1 to access voicemail.

15 Getting Started 4 Close Cover Close the battery cover . Rotate the battery cover screws in clockwise direction. Y ou can use the screwdriver pr ovided to tighten the screws. Ensur e not to overtighten the screws. Removing the Battery Follow steps 1 and 2 of “Inserting the Battery” on page 14 .

20 Getting Started Switching On When the phone is switched on, it tries to register with the network. After successful registration, the name of the service provider is displayed.
21 Getting Started Basic Settings Security Settings T o prevent unauthorised use of your phone, you can set a PIN code. The PIN is operator dependent. 1. Select Menu > Settings > Security settings > PIN protection > On . Enter the PIN. Select OK .

30 Calls Calls This section provides information on managing calls. Dial a Number 1. Use the numeric keys to enter the number and press . 2. Alternatively you can enter the desired phone number and select Option > Call . Dial an International Number Press and hold the numeric key 0 till the + symbol is displayed.
31 Calls Call Timers • T o view the total time spent on the last call, select Menu > Calls > Call history > Call timers > Last call . • T o view the total time spent on outgoing calls, select Menu > Calls > Call history > Call timers > Dialled calls .
32 Calls Call Forward Option Function All voice calls Forwar d all incoming calls to a pre-designated number . If unreachable Forward calls when you have switched off your phone or you are out of network coverage area. If no answer Forward calls when you do not answer incoming calls.
33 Calls 1. Select Menu > Calls > Call settings > Fixed Dial > Mode > On . Enter the PIN2 to activate xed number dialing. 2. Select Add new to add a new number to the list or select Fixed numbers list to view the list. For your PIN2, please contact your service provider .
34 Settings Settings Phone Settings This section provides information on the various settings for the phone. T o access, select Menu > Settings > Phone settings. Time and Date Y ou can set and display the date and time on the phone. Y ou can also select the display format.
35 Settings Dedicated Key Dedicated keys are the navigation keys that can be set for specic functions. T o assign specic function to the keys, select Menu > Settings > Phone settings > Dedicated key > Select a key > Edit. Y ou can also change the specic function previously assigned to the key .
36 Settings T -Rating stands for T elecoil rating and r epresents inductive coupling with hearing aids that are operating in telecoil mode. A telecoil is a small piece of tightly wrapped wire, built into some hearing aids.
37 Settings Prefer ences Y ou can view the list of networks. Select Option to Add existing , Add new network code , Change priority , or Delete . This list is made to use while the user is roaming. GPRS Connection Y ou can access the GPRS network. Enables you to choose the registration pr eference.
38 Settings Security Settings T o prevent unauthorized use of your phone, you can set the PIN protection and keypad lock. PIN Protection T o enable PIN protection, select Menu > Settings > Security settings > PIN protection > On . Enter the password Change PIN T o change the PIN protection passwor d, select Change PIN .
39 Managing Y our Files Managing Y our Files Using the My files menu, you can store and manage audio les, image les, .jar les, .jad les and .txt les. Y ou can preview the les, view their details and delete les. The internal storage capacity is approximately 85 MB.

41 Managing Contacts Managing Contacts Y ou can use the phonebook to maintain phone numbers of your contacts. This feature enables you to add, delete, dial phone numbers, send SMS and MMS messages. T o access the contacts, select Menu > Phonebook .
42 Managing Contacts Edit the Contact Details Y ou can enter or edit the contact details. On the home screen, select Menu > Phonebook. Select the contact.
43 Managing Contacts Send Contact by e-mail 1. Select Menu > Phonebook. Select the contact. 2. Select Option > Send contact > As Email . Enter the following details: • T o : Y ou can enter the recipient’ s e-mail address. • CC: Y ou can enter the e-mail address of the recipient, to whom a copy of the e-mail has to be sent.
44 Once the contacts are marked, the following options ar e displayed: Option Function Unmark Y ou can unmark the selected contact. Send text message Y ou can send an sms message to all the marked contacts. Send multimedia message Y ou can send a multimedia message to all the marked contacts.
45 Phonebook Settings T o view or dene settings for your phonebook, select Menu > Phonebook > Option > Phonebook settings. • Preferr ed storage : Y ou can select either SIM or Phone or both as the default memory location to store the contacts.
46 Messages Messages Y ou can send SMS and MMS messages to your contacts. SMS and MMS are convenient and inexpensive means of communication. Y ou can send a text message to other people via SMS service. MMS allows you to send messages by including multimedia content such as pictures, audio les, video les, and so on.
47 MMS Messages 1. T o write a MMS message select Menu > Messages > Write message > Multimedia message. 2. Enter the message in the text pane. The text input mode is displayed at the top left of the screen. Pr ess and release # to select the appr opriate text input mode.
48 Manage Y our Messages The inbox, draft, outbox and sent folders display the number of stored messages in par enthesis. Inbox The Inbox stores and displays all the incoming SMS and MMS messages. T o access the Inbox, select Menu > Messages > Inbox .
49 Messages Drafts Messages that have been saved to be sent later are stored in Draft. 1. T o access unsent messages, select Menu > Messages > Drafts . 2. Select Option to view the following list of options. • View: Y ou can view the message. • Send: Y ou can send the message.
50 Sent Messages Messages that have been sent and delivered ar e stored in Sent. 1. T o access sent messages, select Menu > Messages > Sent . 2. Select Option to view the following list of options. • View: Y ou can view the message. • Forward : Y ou can send the message to another recipient.
51 Send and Receive Y ou can view the number of messages sent and received. Write Email 1. T o write an e-mail, select Menu > Messages > Email > Write Email . 2. Enter the following details: • T o: Y ou can enter the recipient’ s e-mail address.
52 Email Draft Messages that have been saved to be sent later are stored in Drafts. 1. T o access unsent messages, select Menu > Messages > Email > Draft . 2. Select Option to view the draft options. 3. Press the menu key to view the message.
53 Message Settings T o view or dene settings for your messages, select Menu > Messages > Message settings . SMS Settings Select Message settings > T ext message to edit the following SMS settings: • Prole settings: Y ou can view and edit the pr ole name, validity period, and type of message.
54 Messages Settings Function Memory status Y ou can view the number of messages stored in mobile phone and memory card. Voicemail Server Y our incoming calls can be forwarded to your voice mail. Callers will be prompted to leave a message for you. This feature r equires you to enter a voice mail number which is provided by your service pr ovider .
55 Profiles Y ou can activate and modify various settings on your Sonim XP3300 FORCE phone using Proles. On the home screen, select Menu > Pr ofiles to display the options. Y ou can customise the proles to use featur es such as tone settings, ring volume, alert type, ring type and extra tone.
56 Profiles Sound Settings Select Menu > Profiles > General > Customize . Changing it effects the curr ent set prole. The following sound settings are displayed: 1. T one settings: Y ou can set the tone for incoming calls, messages, and keypad.
57 T ools T ools This section contains miscellaneous features supported by the handset. Calendar The calendar enables you to set appointments, schedule reminders when r equired, set alerts and r epeat specic settings. T asks can be viewed on daily and weekly basis.
58 Calculator The calculator in this phone is designed to perform simple mathematical calculations. 1. Select Menu > T ools > Calculator . 2. T o enter the numbers, press the numeric keys. 3. T o use mathematical operators use the navigation keys.
59 T ools World Clock Y ou can view the time of major cities in differ ent time zones using this function. Y ou also have the option to use Daylight Saving Time (DST). The local time is displayed in the lower half of the screen. 1. T o view the international clock, select Menu > T ools > W orld clock .
60 Applications Java Sonim XP3300 FORCE has a set of Mobile Java applications pre-installed on the phone. Y ou can also download more Java applications via W AP , Bluetooth, SD Card or Java Application Manager . Network Profile Settings T o use the applications requiring internet service, the network prole must be set.
61 WAP Browser WAP Browser This mobile phone has an internal WAP browser that allows you to browse contents of various W AP websites on the Internet. This facility is made available only if you subscribe to a data service from your network operator for Internet access.
62 Connectivity Connectivity Y ou can access Bluetooth and data accounts. Bluetooth Bluetooth is a wireless connection that enables devices to exchange information. Devices within a range of 10 meters can be connected wirelessly using Bluetooth technology .
63 Rename Paired Device 1. Select Menu > Connectivity > Bluetooth > My device . 2. Select the paired device. 3. Select Option > Rename . 4. Enter the new name. 5. Select OK . Delete Paired Device 1. Select Menu > Connectivity > Bluetooth > My device .
64 Connectivity Receiving Data via Bluetooth T o receive data using Bluetooth, your device should be Bluetooth activated and must be visible to other devices. 1. When you receive a data, you ar e asked if you want to accept it. 2. Select Accept to receive data OR select Reject to refuse the data.
65 Camera Camera The Sonim XP3300 FORCE has a 2MP (megapixel) camera for taking pictures. The pictur es can then be saved in your phone. • Select Menu > Camera OR press the camera key . The camera is switched on. • Select the menu key OR press the camera key to shoot the picture.
66 Music Music Media Player Y ou can use the built-in media player to play the audio and video les. T o access media player , select Menu > Music > Media player . The following sub-menus are listed: Now Playing Y ou can view the audio/video files that is currently being played.
67 • Rename: Y ou can rename a playlist. • Storage: Y ou can store the playlist in phone. Y ou can play .mp3, .wav , .amr , and .aac audio files. Y ou can play MPEG and 3GP video files. FM Radio The FM radio is built-in and offers instant and easy access to FM radio channels in your phone.
68 Hardcoded Shortcuts Hardcoded Shortcuts The following are a set of special shortcuts r elated to voice calls. Some of these features may r equire network support. • Enter 0 followed by SEND - releases all held calls or sets User Determined User Busy (UDUB) for a waiting call.
69 Micro SD Card Micro SD (Secure Digital) Card In Sonim XP3300 FORCE phone, you can insert a removable Micr o SD Card to incr ease the storage capacity . This card is inserted into the slot inside the phone. Y ou can perform the following functions on the SD card.
70 Wired Headset A wired headset is supplied along with the Sonim XP3300 FORCE phone. A wired headset is a set of headphones attached to a microphone and connected to a phone using a wire connection. The connection is usually made via a headphone jack.
71 PC- TOOLS PC- Tools Sonim XP3300 PC T ools application provides synchronization of contacts, calendar and r elated data between your computer and XP3300 phone to ensure that both media have complete up-to-date data at the same time. Y ou can also easily data transfer between a computer and an XP3300 FORCE phone.
