4 MEDICAL W ARNINGS 1) Av oid using a br ush head with cr ushed or bent bristles. Damaged bristles may break off while br ushing. In order to prevent this, replace the br ush head with a new one ever y 6 months or sooner if signs of w ear appear .
5 1 2 Preparing f or use Attaching the brush head C 1 Align the bar on the brush head with the notch on the handle and slide the brush head onto the handle. C 2 Scre w the brush head nut clockwise until it's firmly tightened. If the brush head rattles when in use, tighten the nut further .
6 Using the appliance Useful tips ◗ Gel toothpastes are r ecommended for optimal pr oduct performance. ◗ Place the brush head in your mouth bef ore turning on y our Sonicare and k eep your mouth closed during brushing, otherwise toothpaste ma y splatter .
7 Brushing technique Follow these simple steps to maximiz e your brushing exper ience . 1 Befor e turning the Sonicare on, place the bristles of the brush head along the gumline with the longer bristles placed between y our teeth. C 2 P osition the bristles of the brush head to wards the gumline and close your mouth.
8 pow er (after the 12th brushing), you will no longer hear the double beep at the beginning of your brushing r outine . ◗ Note: each of the first 12 brushings must be at least 1 minute in length to properl y mov e through the Easy-start ramp-up cycle.
9 C 1 Place the handle in the charger base (with the Sonicare log o facing towards y ou) to begin the recharging process. ◗ The pow er button light flashes slowly when the handle is in the charger base to signal charging is in progr ess.

11 C 4 T urn the scr ewdriv er handle sidewa ys, using twisting and pr ying motions, to crack open the handle along its side seams. C 5 Pull the 2 handle sections completely apart. C 6 Insert the screwdriv er underneath the electronic cir cuit board in multiple places.
12 C 9 Use a twisting and pr ying motion to br eak the glue bond on the inside of the handle plastic and underneath the batteries. The 2 batteries are joined together with glue and will be lifted out together .
13 Solution Recharge your Sonicare overnight, ensuring that it is not plugged into an electrical outlet controlled by a light switch. Make sure the br ush head is attached correctly . Y ou may experience a slight tickling/tingling sensation when using Sonicare for the first time .
