1 2 Thank you for purchasing the Sonic-connect™ USB Media Aler t Device , y our companion to help you stay connected with today’ s specialized communication media. The Sonic-connect is a USB-based device that can be set up to interface with many email accounts, instant message ser vices and Skype™ via y our per sonal computer (see page 16).
Unpack: Carefully unpack y our Sonic-connect. Be sure to use in a dr y location and a void any contact with water or other fl uids. System requir ements: PC with Microsoft Windows XP , Windo ws Vista, or Windows 7. Available USB 1.0, USB 2.0 por t. *Not compatible with Apple ® products.
5 6 Once the program is successfully launched, this icon will be shown in y our Windo ws system tr ay at the bottom of your screen. Messag e Status: By default the Sonic-connect program is set to “Activ e” (indicated by the icon in the system tray).
7 8 Confi gure your email: The Sonic-connect works with many popular email programs, providing a choice of aler ts. Right click on the icon to bring up the E-mail settings window and fi ll in the infor mation requested. Befor e continuing, you will need: ■ IMAP or POP ser ver inf or mation.
9 10 Confi gure Skype: Right click on the icon to bring up the Skype settings window . Entering your user name and password f or your Skype account allows the Sonic-connect to automatically log on to Skype and check for incoming messages when the Sonic-connect program is star ted.
12 11 Microsoft Outlook: The Sonic-connect is compatible with Microsoft Outlook’ s email, task and calendar reminder s. No confi gur ation is needed. Y ou will be automatically aler ted after setting up your aler t function f or email, appointment/event schedule reminder on y our calendar page .
Using Y our De vice: Now that y ou have confi gured your Sonic-connect, it is ready to help you sta y connected and will star t automatically when y our computer is pow ered up. Make sure y our Sonic-connect is connected to your computer’ s USB por t.
