9 • UK Return to contents Quick Star t Guide to Naviga tion 1. T ake the S8000 outside so that the GPS receiver can locate your position. This may take between 15 - 30 minutes the first time. When satellite lock is achieved, the scr een will display your curren t position on its map in a ‘3D’ navigation view .

1 1 • UK Return to contents Star t Up – Installing the SD Car d Before using the S8000, y ou will need to install the SD Card included with the device . The SD Card c omes complete with digital mapping and is also where the A URA™ camera database is stored if y ou choose to subscribe and download it.
12 • UK Return to contents Downloading the A URA™ Camer a Database Please Note: Y ou must register S8000 before you can perform a download. Performing a download is simple. 1. Connect the AC P ower adapter pr ovided to a mains plug socket and attach the other end to the S8000 pow er socket.

27 • UK Return to contents 3.4 Offi ce Y ou can navigat e easily and quick ly from a pr evious journey or destination to your office or place of work, by personalising S8000 so that a route can be calculat ed by pressing just a few butt ons.
28 • UK Return to contents Once a route has been calcula ted, the ‘Recent Route ’ icon is replaced with a ‘ Clear Route’ icon. T o cancel a rout e that you have calculated: Press the centr e of the screen to enter the ‘Na vigate to ’ menu.

41 • UK Return to contents 3.14.3 Clear A voided Road If you do not wish to use the alternative r outes offered b y S8000 and you wish to return to the original calculat ed route, pr ess the ‘ Clear A voided Road’ button and the original rout e plotted by S8000 will be restor ed.

F irst input your destination address as normal but when you reach the Summary page, press the ‘Route Option ’ button.

T o adjust the volume , use your finger to pr ess either the button to increase the v olume or the button to decrease the volume .
73 • UK Return to contents 8.0 Understanding the Mapping Screen Distance to next junction or instruction Whilst navigating a calculat ed route the S8000 display will sho w an information bo x. This box will tell you the next road you should be travelling on and the distanc e to that turn.
74 • UK Return to contents DVB- T P or table Digital T elevision IMPORT ANT NO TICE. PLEASE READ Never attempt t o watch DVB- T digital T V whilst driving a vehicle. If a passenger wishes to view DVB- T in a moving vehicle, the unit must be positioned so that the driver cannot see the screen.

79 • UK Return to contents Pairing In order to use the Bluetooth facility you must first ‘pair’ your unit with your mobile phone . Once the phone is paired with the S8000, ther e is no need to do the pairing again unless the mobile phone is changed.
