5 NETWORK + S YSTEM REQUIREM ENTS To begin using the WLX- 2002, make sure you meet the following as m inimum requirement s: • PC/Notebook. • 1 Free Ethernet port. • WiFi card/USB dong le (802.11 b/g/n) – opt ional. • PC with a Web-Browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Opera) • Ethernet compatible CAT 5 cables.
8 BRINGING UP TH E WLX-200 2 You can plu g the WLX-2 002 directl y into a wal l outlet. Swi tch the device on with the power swi tch located on the bottom of the devi ce.
9 INITIAL SET UP WLX-2002 To configu re the WLX-2 002 conne ct to the d evice wi relessly as descri bed in th e Quick install ation guide. Once t he connecti on has been establi shed follow the n ext steps to manuall y configu re your access poin t. LOGIN proce dure 1.

11 BASIC SETTINGS Band Please select th e wirel ess band you wish to us e. By selecti ng a different band s ettin g, you’ll be abl e to all ow or deny the wirel ess clients on a c ertain band. MAIN ESSID Pl ease inpu t the ESSID (t he name used t o identi fy this wirel ess access poin t) here.
12 ADVANCED SETTINGS Security This devi ce provides man y types of wi reless secu rity (wi reless data encrypt ion). When you use data encrypti on, data trans ferred by r adi o signals in th e air will become unreadabl e for those pe ople who don ’t know th e correct enc ryption key (encrypti on password).
WEP Key Length You can select the WEP key len gth for encrypti on, 64-bi t or 128-bit . The larger the ke y will be the hig her level of securi ty is used, bu t the throughpu t will b e lower.
WPA WPA Unic ast Cipher S uite Avail able options are: WPA (TK IP), WPA2 (A ES), and WPA2 Mixed. You can sel ect one of them , but you have to mak e sure your wireless cli ent supports the cipher you sel ected.
Advanced This tab a llows you to s et the advanced wirel ess options. The options in cluded are Channel Bandwidt h, Fragment Thr eshold , RTS Threshol d, Beacon Inte rval, an d Preamble Type. You shoul d not ch ange these pa ramete rs unless you kn ow what effe ct the chan ges will h ave on the router.

WPS Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS ) is the si mplest way to establ i sh a connection betw een the wireless cli ents and th e wirel ess router. You d on’t have t o select th e encrypti on mode and fill in a long encrypt ion passphras e every tim e when you try t o setup a wi reless connecti on.

Upgrade If there is a n ew firmwa re avail able, you can up load the fi rmware to the device to g et extra functi ons or probl em fixes. Click the ‘B rowse’ butto n. You’ll be prompted to provide the fi lename of th e firmware upgrade fil e. Please dow nload t he latest fi rmware file from ou r websit e, and use it to upgrade your device.
