7 Batt ery c hanging When inserting the battery please pa y attention to the plus side on the bat tery . The plus (+) side of the bat tery is al ways the smooth side. Y ou can r ecognise the minus (–) side by the coloured ring. Y ou should al ways k eep spare bat teries at hand.
8 Safet y not es for batteries W ARNING Keep bat teries awa y from childr en! Batt eries must not be swallow ed. Remo ve the bat teries when the instrument is not in use ov er a prolonged period.
9 2/2 P Y ou can adapt to a c hanged hearing situation b y lightly pressing the progr am button. F or instance, you are bet ter able to understand the person you’r e t alking to ev en in disturbing bac kground noise. Y ou simply pr ess the button to choose betw een t wo programs.
10 Childr en’ s safet y devic e Y our instrument is eq uipped with a “childr en’s safety device“. T his is intended to prev ent the unintentional remo val of bat teries from their compartment, suc h as by small childr en. This saf ety device is on the inner side of the hearing instrument.
11 2/2 P Safety not e for instruments with audio input The audio input can only be connected to po wer supplied devices if the y fulfil at least the safety pro visions of IEC 65 / DIN VDE 0860. Y our hearing instr ument has an audio input. This enables the connection between hearing instr ument and accessories.

15 2 D SP Handling batteries So-called zinc-air batteries are used today almost e xclusively in hearing instruments to minimize en vironmental damage. T hese batteries requir e oxygen f or operation, which the y absorb from the air .
16 Battery changing Inserting the battery Important! Make sure to note the polarity of the battery! If the bat tery is inser ted incorrectly , the bat tery compar tment can be closed only with considerable f orce.

Make sur e that your hearing instrument is t urned of f . The bat tery compar tment must be opened up to the stop. Grip the ear mould bet ween y our thumb and index finger and place the tip carefully into y our auditory canal. Y ou may find it helpful to pull your ear slightly upw ards or to the rear .
25 Tip: Practice inser t ing and removing y our hearing instruments correctly . One easy way to practice is to sit down at a table. Place a mirror in front of you and prop y our elbows on the table so you can guide your hands easily and safely . This will help you stay relaxed and comfor table while you practice.

28 Two mor e t ips: Y ou should place your hearing instruments in a “dry bag“ with a special moisture-attracting capsule overnight. The drying capsule draws damaging moisture out of the instruments.
