The Computer Access Nod e is attached directly to the remo te computer and draws its po wer directly from two USB ports on the remote computer.

In this installation , multiple Computer Access Nodes and User Access Nodes are attached via the same Ethernet netw ork.

Connect the Computer Access Node to the remote computer as described previously in Po int- to-p oint i nst allat ion on p age 6 . Connect one end of the UTP cable to the Computer Acces s Node’ s RJ-45 connector .

13 Operatio ns Overview Operating a computer through the Avocent Emerge TM ECMS2000U Extender is no differen t than working directly connected to your computer. All pe riph erals operate as if directly connected, even though the co mputer is located at a distance.

Chap ter 3: Opera tions 15 By default, two passwor ds are required to acces s the Avo cent Emerge ECMS2000U Exten der via the Receiver (User Access Node). One password controls access to the Receiver, the other password controls access to the Transmitter (Computer Access Node).
