7 CHAPTER 2 Installation Getting S t arted Before installing yo ur AutoView switch, ref er to the following lis t to ensure you have all item s that shipped with the AutoView switch, as well as other items necessa ry for proper inst allation.

Attach the appropriately color -coded cable ends to th e keyboard, monitor and mouse ports on th e first server you will be co nnecting to the appliance.

Chapter 2: In stallation 15 T o add a le gacy KVM switch: 1. Mount the primary KVM switch into your rack cabinet. 2. Connect one end of a CA T 5 cable to an availabl e port on the back of your AutoV iew switch. 3. Attach th e keyboard, moni tor and mouse co nnectors of th e A VRIQ module to a user port on your cascaded s witch.

17 CHAPTER 3 Basic Operat ions Controlling Y our System at the Analog Port s The AutoView switch features one or two analog por t sets on th e back of the switch that allo w you to connect a mon itor and a PS/2 or USB keybo ard and mouse fo r direct analog access.

Escape Closes the current dialog box without sa ving changes and returns to the previous one. In the Main dialog box, it closes the OSCAR interface and returns to the flag.
