When the system arm s , you will hear a sh ort siren sound , or chirp, and see th e parking ligh ts flash on ce . If the power door locks are con trolled by the system, th e d oors will also lock.

13 © 2000 Directed Electr onics , Inc . If your rem ote transmitter is lost or d am aged , you can manu ally disarm your vehicle security system. T o disarm th e system with out a tran smitter , you must have th e vehi cle's igniti on key and kn ow wher e the V alet ® switch is located .
14 © 2000 Directed Electr onics , Inc . NOTE: Th e W arn Away ® Respon se to lighter impacts is bypassed if the system is armed usin g the Silen t Mod e. This ensur es that the siren does not chirp in an envir onmen t wher e you don't want chirps to be emitted.
15 © 2000 Directed Electr onics , Inc . The status LED will li ght steadily to indi cate that you have enter ed V alet ® Mod e and will turn o ff when you have exited V alet ® Mode. Y ou can also activate V alet ® Mode usin g th e rem ote transmitter: 1.

About three secon ds after the parking li gh ts flash, the system will engag e the starter until th e vehi cle is successfully runnin g.

En ter the vehi cle and turn the igniti on to the ON position. 3. Step on th e brak e pedal. The r emote start system will be shut d own wh en you step on the brak e pedal.

When ever the vehicle is r em ote started, advan ced anti-grind cir cuitry will preven t the starter from en gagin g, even if the k ey is turned to the start positi on. This prevents d am age to th e starter motor if the key is turn ed to the start position d urin g rem ote start operation.
