14 OPERA TION FOR W ARD / REVERSE SELECTOR SWITCH with PO WER LOCK-OFF (Fig. 2) ! T o prevent gear damage, always allo w the chuck to come to a complete stop before c hanging the direction of rotation.
16 OPERA TION cont. 8. The battery pack will become slightly warm to the touch while charging. This is normal and does not indicate a problem. 9. Do not place the charging stand/transformer in an area of extreme heat or cold. It will work best at normal room temperature.
18 OPERA TION cont. ! Do not hold the chuc k body with one hand and use the power of the drill / driver to tighten the chuc k jaws on the accessory bit. The chuc k body could slip in your hand, or your hand could slip and come in contact with the rotating accessory bit.
20 OPERA TION cont. ! Make sure to insert the accessor y bit straight into the chuc k jaws. Do not insert the accessor y bit into the chuc k jaws at an angle then tighten, as shown in Figure 13. This could cause the bit to be thro wn from the drill, resulting in possible serious personal injury or damage to the chuc k.
22 OPERA TION AS A SCREWDRIVER (Fig. 15) T urn and set the torque clutch collar to the desired torque setting, 1 through 15. Install and tighten the desired fastener accessory bit into the chuck. 1. Install the battery pack into the drill/driver . 2. Push the forward/reverse selector switch to the forward position.
24 MAINTENANCE T O RETIGHTEN A LOOSE CHUCK (Figs. 18 and 18a) The chuck may become loose on the spindle and develop a wobble. Also, the chuck screw may become loose, causing the chuck jaws to bind and prevent them from closing.
