1 Guide to Comp onents 1. Platen cover or document feeder (ADF) (option) Lower th e platen cover over originals placed on the exposure glass for c opying. If you have the document feeder, insert a stack of originals here. They will be fed au tomatic ally.

Changing Modes 9 1 Changing Modes You can use this m achine not only as a copier, but optio nally as a fax machine or a printer as well. Press the { Copy } key to use copy functions, o r p ress the { Fac- simil e } key to use facsimile functi ons. If the display shows a mo de other than copy mode, press the { Copy } k e y t o switch to copy mode.

C opying 36 2 Preset Reduce/Enlarge You can sele ct a preset ratio for copying. Note ❒ You ca n select one of 7 preset ratios (3 enlarge ment ratios, 4 reduction ratios ). ❒ You can change th e preset ratios to other ratios you frequently use. See “4.
Zoom 37 2 Zoom You can change the reproduct ion ra- tio in 1% s teps. Note ❒ You can change the rep roduction ratio from 50–200 %. ❒ You can select a ratio r egardless of the size of an original or copy pa- per. With some rati os, part s of the image might not be copied or mar- gins will appear on copies.
