iii English GETTING ST ARTED USING THE Xacti Library Create a library When using a hard disk f or the first time with Xacti L ibrary , a library is created on the hard d isk. 2 Turn on the power to the devices in the following order: camera → hard disk → TV.

English 4 Use the al b u m f eature to o r ganize your files Organizing your files into albums is a snap . By stor ing the files copied to the hard disk into albums , you can play a slidesho w of just those files y ou stored. HINT i The original meaning of “roll” comes from conv entional cameras, in which rolls of film are used.
5 English SETUP ASSEMBLE THE DEVICES Y ou will need the follo wing de vices in order to use the Xacti Libr ary . Camera T o ch eck if y our camera has the Xact i Library feature , please ref er to the instruction manual that accompanied the camera . Use the docking stat ion (included with some models).

English 10 COPY COPY Copy files fr om the camera to the har d disk Copy files from the card installed in the ca mera, or from th e camera’ s inter nal memory , to the hard disk. h The Xacti Libr ary can also be oper ated using the camera’ s controls , b ut it is recommended that y ou use the remote control unit while watching y our TV screen.

15 English PLA YBACK PLA Y HARD DISK FILES Play back f iles that were copied to the har d disk using the Xacti Libr ary’s cop y function. Display the screen to sele ct pla yback files Y ou can specify whether to play bac k f iles by rolls or by calendar dat e.
English 16 PLA YBA CK Select a roll to play 3 Se lect “Library ROLL”, and press the SET button. h The list of rolls appear s. 4 Se lect the desired roll to play back, and press the SET button. h The rest of the pla ybac k procedure is the same as normal camera operat ion.
17 English PLA Y HARD DISK FILES Select pla ybac k files fr om the calendar Select a capture date from the calendar , and play back the correspondi ng files. 1 Display the scr een to select playback files (page 15). 2 Select “Library CALENDAR”, and press the SET button.

TIME: When still images are play ed back, adjust the transit ion speed (the period that an image is displa yed bef ore it changes to the ne xt image).
25 English CREA TE AND EDIT ALBUMS Edit an album Once an albu m has been created, you can add files to it, re mov e files from it, rearrange the orde r in which files will be pla yed bac k, as well as change the play back settings . Add files to an alb um Add files t o an albu m that is already created.
ORGANIZE (ALBUM) English 26 4 Se lect “ADD”, move the pointer to the pl ace you wish to a dd files, and press the SET button. h The screen to select files to add appears. h T o select files from other folders or rolls , please see page 23. 5 Se lect files to add to the album, and press the SET button.

29 English CREA TE AND EDIT ALBUMS Remove alb um files Remov e files from an alb um (deregister). 1 Display the Xa cti Library Menu (page 10). 2 Select “EDIT ALBUM” and press the SET button.
ORGANIZE (ALBUM) English 30 4 Se lect “DELETE”, move the orange frame to the file you wish to delete, and press the SET button. 5 Pr ess the [ ] button. h The screen to confirm the pla yback settings appears . T o change the pla ybac k settings, see page 24 .
31 English DELETE AN ALBUM Once an al bum is dele ted, it cann ot be reco v ered. Bef ore de leting an alb um, be sure to carefully check its contents. 1 Display the Xa cti Library Menu (page 10). 2 Select “EDIT ALBUM” and press the SET button. h The Edit Album Scree n appears.
ORGANIZE (ALBUM) English 32 FORMA T HARD DISK T o format the hard disk, use the f ollowing procedure. 1 Di splay the screen to play back files on the hard di sk using the Xacti Library feature (page 15). 2 From th e OPTION MENU select “FORMAT”, and press the SET button.
33 English FORMA T HARD DISK CA UTION Before f ormatting the hard disk i F ormatting the hard disk will erase all the files stored in it. Y ou should first copy any data y ou want t o kee p to anothe r storage mediu m. If “Format?” appears when Xacti Library is launched.
