27 English INST ALLING THE CARD Be sure to f ormat a newly purchased ca rd or one that was used in ano ther device bef ore using it in your camera (pa ge 170). If an unf ormatted card is used, the card itself ma y become unusab le. 1 Open the card slot cover, and insert the card in the card slot.

English 32 SETUP Changing the remote contr ol code The remote c ontr ol unit will also work with other Sanyo cameras tha t can be operated by infrared remote control. When more than one camera is present, it is recom mended to change the remote control code to ensure that only the intended camera operates when the remote control unit is used.

69 English BEFORE T AKING PICTURES Using the autof ocus The autofocus will w ork in almost all situat ions; however , there are certain conditions that may cause the autof ocus function to not work properl y . If the autofocus function is not working properly , set the f ocus range to capture images (page 72).
English 70 SIMPLE/SHOO TING The fo llowing e xamples are some of the situations where the aut ofocus function ma y work, b ut not as desired. i When both near and far objects are present Use the focus-loc k function to lock the focus on an object at the same distance as the desired subjec t, th en reposition the camera to compose the pict ure.
71 English BEFORE T AKING PICTURES Select the re cor ding size The larger the image size (number of pix els), the better the image quality will be, b ut the file size will also be larger . Select the image quality that is correct for the intended purpose.
