2 English Introduction Network Recorder is an application software for use with Sany o’ s CCD cameras vi a network connection. Installing the Net work Record er on y our PC and connecting the PC to a CCD camera(s) through the option board (V A -50LAN) enable you to operat e the camera(s) remotely on the PC display .
English 3 Installing the V A-SW3050 Software Star t the installation program, and use the interactive dialog bo xes to advance the installation. 1 Set the supplied installatio n CD-ROM into t he drive. The installation progr am star ts automatically .
4 English 7 In the [Ready to Install] dialog, c lick [Install]. The installation star ts, and the status of the installation progress is displa yed in the [Installing] dialog. 8 After the [Completing the V A-SW 3050 Setup Wizard] dialog appears, c lick [Finish] .
English 5 Star ting and Log ging in to the V A-SW3050 Software 1 Double -cli ck the shortcut icon on the desktop. The V A-SW3050 star ts and the login screen appears. MEMO: The V A-SW 3050 icon appears in the task tra y in the r ight bottom cor ner of the screen.
6 English The f ollowing operations are common to each screen following login. ■ Logging O ff Clic k [Log Off] in the [Fil e] menu. The login screen is returned to. ■ Closing the Scre en Click the bu tton in the top right corner of the screen. Alter nativ ely , click [Close] in the [File] menu (the [Close] button on the login screen).
English 7 Registering th e Camera with the Software Registering the ca meras with the V A-SW3050 is required for a ccessing the camer as to displa y live video . Set the I P address of register ed camer as using “FIX ” (manua l) mode (see “NETW ORK SETTINGS” on page 12 in the option boar d instructio n manual) .
8 English ■ Using the Came ra Searc h Function The camera search function autom atically retriev e s the IP addresses f or all cam eras connected to the network. • This functi on configures the IP addres ses all at once for the cameras found, elimi nating the need to enter IP addres ses manu ally .
Registering the Camera with the Softwar e English 9 ■ Specifying the Camera Title For a registered camera, set the camera title while monitor ing its liv e video. 1 Select the camera for which yo u want to specify the title by c licking the correspo nding r ow .
10 Englis h <Setting Op tions> A Rate: Specifies the recording interval for normal recording. B Quality : Changes the video quality preferences for liv e video and normal recording configured on the camera. C Resolution: Changes the video resolution preferences f or live video and nor mal recording configured on the camera.
11 Englis h Basic Operatio ns in the Main Screen After registering the camera(s), the live video is display ed in the main screen. The main screen appears immediately af ter login when a camera has already been regist ered. 1 Menu bar (see pag e 13) Y ou can access various commands f or the V A -SW3050 from the menu bar .

English 1 7 Operating the Camera The V A -SW3050 allows you to operate t he camera remote ly from PC using the camera controller on t he screen. 1 Click on the vi deo from t he ca mera you want to operate. A red f rame appears around the selected vid eo .

English 1 9 Record ing L ive Video ■ About Live Vide o Record ing The V A-SW305 0 enables you to record live video from cameras in the f ollowing f our ways. MEMO: • The recorded video data is stored on the PC’ s hard disk drive. T he preferences on storing the recorded video can be configured in the [D A T A Storage] screen (see page 41).
20 Englis h ■ Recor ding Video Man ually 1 Click on the vi deo from t he ca mera you want to recor d. A red f rame appears around the selected vid eo . 2 Click in the tool b ar . The recording and pla yback controller appears. 3 Click ( 1 ) in the controller .
Recording Live Video English 2 1 ■ Setting the Tim er Recording ● Select [Ti mer Setting] from [Options] in t he menu bar . The [Timer Setting] screen appears. The timer reco rding is configured on an individual camera basis. 1 Click the camera number ta b corresponding to the camera for which yo u want t o config ure the t imer recording.
22 Englis h Y ou can set the timer recording across midnight by specifying the end time earlier than the star t time . Exampl e: The recording star ts at 20:00 on Sunda y and ends at 10:00 on the next Monda y . The timer recording is pe rf orm ed f or 24 hour s by specifying the same time f or both the start and end times.
Recording Live Video English 2 3 ■ Setting the Alarm Recordin g ● Selec t [Alarm Setti ng] fr om [Option s] in the menu bar . The [Alar m Setting] screen appea rs. The alarm rec ording is configured on an individual camera basis. 1 Click the camera for which you want to configure the alarm recording.
24 Englis h 3 Specify the video options in alarm recording. • Rate: Configures the recording rate f or the al arm reco rdin g. The av ailable options depend on the [Alarm ar ea] and [Resolution] settings. •Q u a l i t y : Can change the alar m video quality setting in the camer a.
English 2 5 Pla ying Recorded Video 1 Click on live video from the camera f or which you want to play the re corde d video. A red f rame appears around the selected vid eo . 2 Click in t he tool bar . The recording and pla yback controller appears. 3 Click ( A ) or ( B ) in th e controller .

27 Englis h Printing and Saving Video Images The V A-SW3050 allows y ou to pr int or sav e the video image from the live or recorded v ideo displa yed on the screen. ■ Printing Video Im ages Y ou can print the video image in the video display area of the main screen.
28 Englis h Video Sear ch The V A-SW305 0 enables you to search recorded videos by spec ifying the date and time. ● Select [Search Image] f r om [Edit] in the menu b ar . The [Search Image] screen appears. 1 The video to be searched Use the following check bo xes to specify the video to be searched.

30 Englis h ■ Zooming in on Sear ch Resul ts Y ou can zoom in on the search result to enlarge the specific per iod by selecting the por tion. 1 Specify the period to enlarge by clickin g and drag ging the portion with the mou se. The blac k solid lines appear at the beginning and end of the selected period respectively .
Video Sear ch English 3 1 ■ Saving Vi deo Found in the Sear ch The V A-SW305 0 allows you to sa ve video found in the search in JP EG format. 1 Specify the period to save b y clicking and drag ging the portion with the mou se. The blac k solid lines appear at the beginning and end of the selected period respectively .
32 Englis h Open the “Imag e View er” in the target f older. The sav ed video file is displayed in the fr ame of the I mage Viewer . MEMO: Viewing the video files may be limited du e to securi ty protection by Internet Explorer . In such case, click [Allow Block ed Content.
33 Englis h Chec king Alarm Status Y ou can find the alarm status from the color of the [Alarm] button in the tool bar . Clicking the butt on opens the [Alarm] dialog f or viewing the alarm histor y and image. •B l u e : Norm al status. • Red (flash): Any of the cameras is perf or ming the alarm recording.
English 3 4 Backing up Recorded Data The V A-S W3050 allows y ou to back up the recorded data on the PC to different fol der . ● Select [Backup] from [File] i n the menu bar . The [Backup] screen appears. Note: • When you mak e backup of the recorded data, stop all recording and pla yback operations currently performed.
English 3 5 User Registration Y ou can register up to ten users (including “admin” user) who log in to the V A-SW3050. ■ Registering a New User ● In the menu bar , clic k [Options] and select [Oth ers]. Then select [User Registration]. The [User Re gistration] screen appears.
36 Englis h ■ Changing the User P assw ord 1 Double -clic k the user ID for w hich y ou want to change the p assw ord in the [User ID] list. The user ID is highlighted in the [ User ID] list and is displa yed in the [User ID] bo x ( A ). 2 Ent er the new password.
User Registra tion English 3 7 ■ Deleting a Registered Use r 1 Click the user y ou want to delete from the [User ID] list. The user ID is highlighted in the [ User ID] list. MEMO: Even when another user ID is display ed in the [User ID] bo x ( A ), the user selected in the [User ID ] list is targeted for deletion.
38 Englis h ■ Setting the U ser Privileges f or Operating the C amera Y ou can configure the user privileges for oper ating individual camera. Select the user ID f or which you want to configure t he privileges in the [User ID] list and clic k [Edit].
English 3 9 Split Screen Lay out The lay out screen for the videos from the cameras can b e used to confir m and configure t he video display la yout f or up to 128 cameras . The video displa y lay out can be customized to your pref erences. ● Select [Cam era Lay out Setti ng] from [Options] in the menu bar .
40 Englis h ■ Changing Video Lay out on the 16-part Split Screen 1 Drag the camera number (ex. “001”) on the display pattern di agram with the mouse and drop it onto the destination (ex. “022”). The color of the camera number y ou are moving changes to red and the [Camer a Lay out Setting] dialog appears.
English 4 1 Configur ing the Op tions for Storin g Videos on HDD The recorded video data is stored on the PC’ s hard disk drive . Bef ore performing the recording operations, configure the options for saving data such as the target folder for sa ving.
English 4 2 Deleting Recorded Data The recorded data stored on the P C can be deleted on an individual camera basis. ● Select [Delete Data] from [Options] in the menu bar . The [Delete Data] screen appears. 1 Click the camera for which you want to delete the recor ded data.
English 4 3 Configurin g Other Optio ns Y ou can configure the f ollowing options in relat ion to using the V A-SW3050. Select [Others] from the [Options] in the menu bar and click a menu command to open the corresponding screen. After completing the settings in the screen, click [ Apply] and then clic k [OK].
44 Englis h ■ [Start Up] Setting This option can be used to star t the V A-SW3050 automatically on Windows startup. Selecting the check bo x enables the automatic star tup function. ■ [P opup] Setting The option can be used t o display the alarm video automatically .
