Preparation Adjusting the Hand Strap It is very impor tant to ensure that the Hand strap has been correctly adjusted before y ou begin your recording. The Hand strap enables you to: - Hold the Camcorder in a stable, comfortable position. - Press the ZOOM and Start/Stop button without having to change the position of your hand.

IEEE1394 Data T ransfer ■ Connecting to other D V standard products. A standard D V connection is quite simple. If a product has a D V jack, you can transf er data by connecting to the D V jack using the correct cable. NO TE: Please be careful since there are two types of D V por ts , (4pin, 6pin).

USB Interface (VP-D453(i)/D454(i)/D455(i) only) ✤ The USB Connect function works only in M.Play er mode. ✤ Using the USB cable, y ou can connect your Camcorder to a computer to copy y our movies and images from the Memory card (or built-in memory; VP-D454(i)/D455(i) only), or to a printer to print your images.
USB Interface (VP-D453(i)/D454(i)/D455(i) only) ✤ The USB V ersion function works only in M.Cam and M.Play er modes. ✤ T o ensure proper communication betw een the camcorder and a PC, please set the USB V ersion before connecting the Camcorder to a PC.
USB Interface (VP-D453(i)/D454(i)/D455(i) only) ✤ T o pla y back MPEG4 movies recorded by the camcorder or streaming data transferred through the USB connection on a PC, the Video Codec programme should be installed. ✤ Do not connect the Camcorder to PC before installing the programme.

✤ The still images that you recorded are sa ved in a JPEG file format on the Memory Card. ✤ The moving images that you recorded are sa v ed in MPEG4 file format on the Memory Card. ✤ Each file has a file number and all files are assigned to a folder .
✤ Built-in memory setting is available in the Pla yer/M.Cam /M.Play er modes. (VP-D454(i): 16MB/VP-D455(i): 64MB) ✤ Images can be stored and play ed back using the b uilt-in memory . Hence, set the memory type before storing and playing bac k images.
✤ Photo Quality function works in Play er/M.Cam modes. ✤ Y ou can select the quality of a still image to be recorded. 1. Set the P ower s witch to CAMERA or PLA YER . 2. If the P ower s witch is set to CAMERA mode, set the Mode switch to MEMOR Y .

✤ File Number setting works only in M.Cam mode. ✤ File numbers are given to images in the order the y were recorded when they are stored on the Memory Card. ✤ Memory file numbers ma y be set as follo ws: ■ Series: When there are existing files, the ne w image will be named as the next n umber in the sequence.
