Getting Started 9 Activating Y our Phone 2. Insert the smalle r end of the T ravel Adapter into the charger/acce ssor y connector at the bottom end of your phone. Important!: Y ou must un plug the adapter before removing th e battery from the phone during charging to a void damage.

Understanding Y our Phone 19 Y our Phone’s Modes Backlights Backlights ill uminate the int ernal and exte rnal displays an d the keypad. When you press any key or ope n the phone, t he backlights com e on. They go of f when no keys are pressed within a period of time set in t he Backlight menu.
20 Tip: Y ou can also cycle between T9 Word , Abc , and 123 by repeatedl y pressing and holding the key until the phone beeps . Lock Mode When the phone is in Lock Mode, restrict ions are placed on phone use. Y ou can receive calls and me ssages, but cannot place outgoi ng calls (except for emergency numbers) until you unlock the phone.

Call Functions 29 Answering a Call Caller ID Caller ID lets you ident ify who is calling you by displaying a ca ller’ s number . If the caller’ s name and number are st ored in Contacts, the call er’ s name also appears. If you’ve assigned a pic ture to the entry, it appears in the display as well.

Y ou can review the Incoming call log fo r time an d date of the call, as well as other information. 1. Note: Y ou can enter multiple Waits to extend the length o f a pause. For example, two consecutive Waits cause a total paus e time of four seconds.

Assigning a Pi cture to a Contacts Entr y When you assign a picture to a Contacts en try , the picture that you assigned to the entry appears in the display when you receiv e a call from that Co ntact.

70 Types of M essages Y our phone is able to send and receive T ext and Picture messa ges to compat ible phones and devices. T ext messages can be up to 150 characters in length. Note: Available memory is shared betwee n all messages. You can store up to 100 messages.

After you select the View No w option, “ Connecting ” appears in the display followed by “ Receiving Message ” and a progress bar indicating that the message is down loading to your phone. 2. After the Picture message has downloaded, an alert sounds, and the new Picture message appears in the display .
