6 Section 1 Activating Y our Phone When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are provide d with a plug-in SIM card loaded with your subscription details, su ch as your PIN, any optional services available, and many others.
Section 1: Getting Started 7 Activating Y our Phone Section 1 5. Slide the SIM card into the SI M card socket so that the card locks into place. Ma ke sure the gold contacts of the card face into the phone. Note: When you need to remove the SIM card, slide it, as shown, and take it out of the socket.
8 Section 1 6. Place the battery so that the 3 brass tabs on the end align with the 3 bra ss prongs at the bottom of the ba ttery compartment (1). The arrow on the b atter y should be pointing down. Press th e batter y down until it c licks into place (2).

34 Section 3 Silent mode Silent mode is convenient when you wish to stop the phone fr om making noise, in a theater for example. In Idle mode, pr ess and hold the key until the “Silent mode on” message and the Silent mo de icon display . In Silent mode, in stead of soun ds, your phone will vibrate.

Press the appropriate soft key . 2. T o select the function displayed or the option highli ghted, press the Select soft key or the key .

Example: Y ou wish to sa y something to a person in the room but do not want the person on the phone to hear you.

60 Section 6 Storing a Number in the Phone’ s Memor y The default for saving phone numbers to your phonebook is your phone’s memory . Y ou can also save it to your SIM card or you can set your default so that whenever a new phonebook entry is created, you will be prompted to choose between Phone or SI M card .

Y o u can tell what kind of message it is by the icon displayed. If the icon enve lope is open then the message has been read, otherwise it will appear cl osed.

Section 7: Messages 89 Inbox Section 7 While listening to the message, you may choose the following options by pressing the Options soft key: • Reply via : allows yo u to send a repl y to the sender by sending a Voice note, text message, or picture message.
90 Section 7 The following options will appear: • Vie w : listen to the Voi ce note and view message details. • Delete : allows you to delete the selected message or all messages. • Sort by : allows you to sort messages by Read/Unread, Date, Name, T y pe, Size, or Subject.
Section 7: Messages 91 Sentbox Section 7 3. When you are f inished, press the key . Sentbox This message box stores messages that you have sent. When you enter this menu, the list of messages in the box displays with the reci pients’ phone numbers or names, if available in your Phonebook.
92 Section 7 Outbox This message box stores messages that you have attempted to send but have not actually been sent yet. When you enter this menu, th e list of messages in the box displays wi th the reci pients’ phone numbers or names, if available in yo ur Phonebook.
Section 7: Messages 93 Drafts Section 7 Drafts This message box stor es messages that you may want to edit or send at a later time. When you enter this menu, the list of messages in the box displays. Note: By pressing the Left or Right Navigation keys, you may scroll between Inbox, Sentbox, Outbox, and Drafts.

The following options ar e available: • Set time : allows you to change the hour an d minute. • AM/PM : allows you to set either AM or PM. • Tim e fo r m at : allows you to select whether your time is displayed in 12 hours or 24 hours f ormat.
