7 G et started First st eps to operati ng your phone SIM card information When you subscribe to a cellular network, you receive a plug-in SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card loaded with your subscripti on details, such as your PIN, and available optional services.
8 Get started Low battery indicator When the ba ttery is low: • a warning tone sounds, • the battery low message displays, and • the empty battery icon blinks. If the battery lev el becomes too low , the phone automatically turns off . R echarge your battery .

22 En t e r te x t ABC, T9, Number, and Symbol modes Y ou can enter text for some features such as messaging, Address book, or Calendar , using ABC mode, T9 mode, Num ber mode, and Symbol mode. Changing the text input mode The text inpu t mode indicator appears w hen the cursor is in a text field .

Adjusting the volume during a call Use [ / ] to adj ust the earpiece volume during a call. Press [ ] to i ncreas e the volume l evel and [ ] to decrease the volum e level.

28 Call functions Sending a sequence of DTMF tones Dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) tones are the tones used in phones for tone diall ing. Y ou can send DTMF tones as a group after entering the entire number you need to send or retrieving a number from Address book.

M e nu functions Address book (Menu 2) 35 Using name card options After saving your name card, press < Option s > to access the following options: • Edit : edit th e name card. • Send via : send the name card via SMS, MMS, e-mail, or infrared port.
36 Menu functions Service number (Menu 2.9) This menu is available if your SIM card supports Service Dialling Numbers (SDN). Use this menu to view the li st of SDNs a ssigned by your service provider , including emergency numbers, director y enquiries, and voicemail numbers.

42 Menu functions GSM 1900, Combined GSM 900/1800, and T ri band (GSM 900/180 0/1900). The country where you purchased your phone determines the default band that it uses. When you travel abroad, you ma y need to change to an appropriate band. When you select a new band, y our phone automatically searches f or all available networks.

Memory status (Menu 3.8) Use this menu to check the amount of memory being used for storing data in Shared memory , Messaging , Media album , Calendar , Address book , and JAVA world .

Recording video Y ou can record a video of what is displayed on the camer a screen and sa ve it as a .

Viewing a missed alarm event When you are unable to acknowledge an alarm, the phone displays a missed alarm notification.
