6 Section 1 Activating Y our Phone When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are provide d with a plug-in SIM card loaded with your subscription details , such as your PIN, and other optional services available. 20 Section 2 External Display Y our phone has an external display on the front of the phone. I t indicates when y ou have an incomi ng call or message. It also displays date, time, reception, battery power , and any icons associated with alerts, such as messages, or a set alarm.

22 Section 2 Selecting Functions and Options Y our phone offe rs a set of functions that can be customized for your eas e and specific needs. These functions are arranged in menus and sub-menus, accessed using the two soft keys. Each menu and sub- menu allows you to view and alter the settings of a particular function.

26 Section 2 Speakerphone Key Use the speakerphone key (loc ated on the right side of your phone) to switch fr om using the earpiece to the speakerphone during a call. Use the volume keys (locat ed on the left side of your phone) to adjust the volume.

28 Section 3 Making a Call When the Idle scr een display s, enter the ar ea code and phone number , and press the key . Note: When you activate the Auto Redial option in th e Extra S ettings m enu, the phone will automat ically redia l up to 10 times when the person does not answer the call or is already on the phone.

30 Section 3 Adjusting the Call V olume During a call, if you want to adjust the earpiece volume, use the V olu me keys on th e left side of the phone. Press the key to incr ease th e volume lev el and the key to decrease the level. In Idle mode, you can also adjus t the ringer volume using these keys.

After ending the cal l, the phon e returns to the function screen you were using. Recent Calls The phone stor es the numbers of the calls you’ve dialed, received, or missed in the Recent Calls menu.

Putting a Call on Hold Y ou can place the current call on hold whenever you want. Y ou can make another call while you have a call in progr ess if your network supports this service.

48 Section 5 Changing the T ext Input Mode The T ext Input option switches the key entry f unctions from T9 Mode, A BC Mode, Numeric Mode, and Symbols Mode. T9 Mode This mode allows you to en ter words with onl y one keystroke p er letter . Each key on the key pad has more than one letter; for exampl e, pressing the 5 key can enter J, K, or L.
