7 Ge t s t a r t e d First st eps to operati ng your phone SIM card information When you subscribe to a cellular network, you receive a plug-in SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card loaded with your subscripti on details, such as your PIN, and available optional services.
8 Get started Low battery indicator When the ba ttery is low: • a warning tone sounds, • the low battery message displays, and • the empty battery icon blinks. If the battery lev el becomes too low , the phone automatically turns off . R echarge your battery .

23 S tep outside the phone Voice recongnition Y our phone can recognise specific voice commands in order to dial a number or search for names in Phonebook, or access menus. Y our phone recognises only English, French, German, Italian, Spanis h, and Russian.
24 Step outside the phone Use a memory ca rd Y ou can use an optional microSD memory card to enlarge your phone’s mem ory capacity . 1. In Idle mode, press < Menu > and select Applications → Voice commands → Direct menu . 2. At the voice prompt, say a menu name, for example, Phonebook.

Making a call from Phonebook Once you have stored a number in Phonebook, you can dial the number by selecting it from Phonebook. p. 34 Y ou can also use the speed dial feature t o assign your most frequently called numbers to specific number keys .
30 Call functions Viewing missed calls If you have missed calls, the screen displays how many calls you ha ve missed. 1. Press < View >. 2. If necessary , scroll thr ough the missed calls.
31 Call functions Answering a second call Y ou can answer an incoming call while already on the phone, if your network supports it and you have activ ated th e call w ai ting feat u re. p. 88 1. Press [ ] to answer the c all. The first call is automatica lly put on hold.
32 • Phonebook : access th e contact list. • End h eld call : disconnect the call currently on hold. • Transfer : transfer the currently active call to a caller on hold. The two ca llers can talk to each other , but you are disconnected from the call.
33 M enu functions Call log (Menu 1) 3. Press [ ] to view the details of a ca ll, or [ ] to dial a number . Using call log options While viewing call det ails, press < Options > to access the following options: • Call : edit the number and dial it.
34 Menu functions T o reset the call timers, press < Reset >. Y ou need to enter the phone pass word. Call costs (Menu 1.7) This network feature displays the cost of calls. This menu is available only if supported by your SIM card. Note that this is not intended to be used for billing purposes.
35 M enu functions Phonebook (Menu 2) • Send message : send an SMS or MMS message to the selec ted number , or an e-mail to the sel ected address. • Copy to : copy the contact to the phone ’ s memory or to the SIM card. • Send via : send the contact via SMS , MMS, e-m ail, or Bluetooth.
36 Menu functions Creating a caller group 1. Press < Option s > and select Create group . 2. Enter a name for the group . 3. Select the caller ID line and set an image or a video. 4. Select the ringtone line and set a melody . 5. Press < Save > to sav e the group.
37 M enu functions Phonebook (Menu 2) • View : check the name and num ber assigned to a key . • Change : assign a different numbe r to a key . • Remove : clear the speed dial setting for a key . Dialling speed dial numbers In Idle mode, press and hold the appropriate key .

Service number (Menu 2.8) Use this menu to view the list of Service Dialling Numbers (SDN) assigned by your service provider , including emergency numbers and numbers for directory enquiries.

51 M enu functions Browser (Menu 4) Bookmarks (Menu 4.3) Use this menu to save URL addresses in order to quickly access web pages. Adding a bo okmark 1. Press < Add >. If a bookmark has already been saved , press < Options > and se lect Add bookmark .
52 Menu functions Clear cache (Menu 4.6) Use this menu to clear information stored in the cache. Browser settings (Menu 4.7) Use this menu to select a co nnection profile to be used for access ing the wi reless web. Y ou can also create or edit a profile.

Pressing the k ey twic e disp lays the m essag e t ypes so that you can specify the ones to be cleared. 2. Press < Delete >. 3. Press [ ] to select the check box to delete protected messages, and then press < Yes >.
62 Menu functions Service centre : store or chang e the number of your SMS server . Default de stination : enter the de fault destination. It will be disp lay ed in the fir st field on the Recipients field . Default type : set the default m essage type.

96 Solve prob lems “Enter PU K” • The PIN has been entere d incorrectl y thr ee tim e s in succession, and the phone is now blocked. Enter the PUK supplied by your service provider . “No service,” “ Network failure,” or “Not done” displays • The network connection has been lost.

98 Health and safety information SAR tests are conduct ed using st anda rd operating positions with the phone tr ansmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certifi ed power level, the actual SAR level of the phone while operating can be well below the maxim um v alue.
