Getting Started 4 Impo rtant !: Y ou must full y charge the batter y the first time you use your phone, otherwise you could damage the batter y . 1. Insert the top end of th e batt ery first, ma tchi ng the gold contact s on the t op end of th e battery to thos e inside the phone.

9 Features 1. Earpiece / Speaker — Lets you hear ringin g and alert tones, alarm tones, and th e other partie s to calls. 2. P ower / Accessories Connector — Used to plug in charging accessories and to connect an y available acces sory cables to your phone.

11 SEND K ey The SEND key ( ) is used to answer ca lls, dial cal ls, and to recall the last number(s) dialed, received, or missed. • Press once to answer calls. • Enter a number and briefly press to make a call. • Briefly press in standby mode to display a list of recent calls to and from your phone.

13 Standb y Mode Standby mode is the state of the phon e once it has found ser vice and is idle. The phone goes into standby mod e: • After you power the phone on. • When you press after a call or from w ithin a menu. In standby mode, you will see the time, day , and date as well as all phone status icons.
Understanding Y our Phone 1 4 T o exit Silent Mode : 䊳 While in Silent mode and st an dby mode, press and hold . “ Exit Silen t Mode ” briefly appears in the display and your phone returns to standby mode. Vibrate Mode While in Vibrate Mode , your phone does no t ring to indicate incoming ca lls or alarms , it vibrates inst ead.
15 Section 4: Call Functions This section explains how to make and answer calls. This section also inc ludes the features a nd functional ity associate d with making or answering calls. Making a Call — Number Entr y Dialing 1. With the ph one on, ente r the number you wish to call using the keypad.
Call Functions 16 store th e numbers in your Con tacts al ong with s pecial cha racters called pauses. • 2-Sec Pa use — P pause — A two-second pause stops the c alling sequence for two seconds and then automatically sends the remaining digits. • Wai t — W pause — A hard pause stops the c alling sequence until you press .
17 T hree-T ouc h Dialing Memory loca tions 100 through 999 are sp ecial Three-T ouch dialing locations. Example: For location number 113, briefly press , briefly press again, then press and hold until the name and number appear in the display and the number is dialed.
Call Functions 18 • A ring tone sounds and /or your phone vibrates (Y our phone provides seven ring volume settings incl uding: Ringer Off , Vi b r a t e , Low , Low/ Medium , Medium , Medium/High , High , or V ibrate/High , and/or different ring types to distinguis h callers.
19 Ignoring a Call When you ig nore an inco ming call, t he call is immediately forwarded to yo ur voice mail . 䊳 During an incomi ng call, press the Ignore soft key .
Call Functions 20 • Save — Save the number to your Contacts. • Details — C alls to C ontac ts On ly — Sh ows th e entry for t he call ed Contact. • Erase — Erase the sele cted ca ll from yo ur Outg oing ca ll log. • Lock/Unlock — Prot ect the sele cted call fro m being erased.
21 Missed Calls Y our phone retains in form ation about the last 90 missed calls (calls that were never picked up ) and stores them in the Missed call log. Y ou can review the Missed call log for the time and date of the call, as well a s other informat ion.
Call Functions 22 • Vie w Ti me r — Shows the number o f call s and/or the to tal ti me spent on the Last Call , All Call s, Recei ved, Outgoi ng, Roami ng Calls, Lifetime Calls.
23 The following opt ions appear in the d isplay: • Tr a n s m i t — View the t otal amount of dat a transmit ted by your phone si nce t he last reset . • Received — View t he total amount of d ata r eceived b y yo ur pho ne since the last reset.
Menu Navigation 24 Section 5: Menu Na vigation This section explains the menu navi gation for your phone. It also includes an outline of all the a vailable m enus associat ed with your phone. Menu Naviga tion Access the menus and sub menus in your phone using the naviga tion key ( ) and soft keys ( ), or use a shortcut.

Entering T ext 26 Section 6: Entering T ext This section outlines how to sele ct the desired text entry mode when entering characters using the phone keypad . This section also describes how to use the T9 predictive text entr y system to reduce the number of key stro kes needed to enter text .
27 Using T9 ® Mod e T9 Word recogn izes commonly used words for the numeric sequence of ke y presse s an d inserts the word into your message. T9 Word is much faster th an the traditio nal method o f text entr y (Abc) and requires only one key pre ss per le tter of the w ord that you’re spelling.
Entering T ext 28 Entering Symbols Enter symbols such as “@” or “%” into a text message. 1. While composing a t ext messa ge, press the Left sof t key , then selec t Symbols . The first of thre e symbol screens appears in the dis play . 2. Use the Prev and Next soft keys to page through the other symbols, if desired.
29 Section 7: Understanding Y our Contacts This section details ho w you can manage your daily contacts by storing their names and numbers in you r Contacts list. Y ou can have your Contacts en tries sorted by name. Contacts Up to 500 entries can be stored in Contacts.

31 Adding a New Contacts Entr y Y ou can use either of two methods to add an entirely ne w entry to Contacts. Dial Method 1. Using the keypad, enter the num ber you wish to add to your Contacts. 2. 41 Section 8: Messaging This section explains how to send or receive different ty pes of messages. This section also describes the features and functionality associat ed with messaging. Y our phone is able to send and receive T ext messages to compatible phones and devices.
Messaging 42 Rec eiv e T ext Messages When you receive a message in standby mode, the ringer sounds (unless turned off) and New Message appears in the display along with the closed envelope icon ( ).
43 Vi ew a T ext Me ssa ge Later 1. In standby mode, press the Message soft key , then select Inbox . The Inbox screen appears in the display . 2. Select the new me ssage. The new text message a ppears in the display . Message Box es Y our phone stores messages in an y one of five message boxes.

47 Listen to V oicemail Now Once you’ve received a new v oicemail message, you have the option to either : • Listen Now — Calls your v oice mailbox and al lows you to listen to your mess ages. • Listen Later — Returns you to standby mo de where you can later choose to call y our mailbox an d review your m essages.
Messaging 48 Messa ge Settings Use the Msg Settings sub-menus to define general settings and text message settings. General Messag e Settings 1. In standby mo de, press the Message soft key , then select Msg Settings ➔ General .

T ools 58 Section 11: T ools This section explains ho w to use your phone’ s digital assistant functio nality to schedule even ts, set reminders, perform calculations, and more. T ools Menu T ools is a suite of P ersonal Information Manager (PIM) applications such as a Calendar , and Memo Pad that run on your phone.
59 T ur n Bluetooth On /Off When the Bluetooth is turned on , you can use the Bluetooth features availa ble. When the Bluetooth is t urned off, you c annot send or receive information via Bluetooth.

63 Alar m Cloc k Y our phone has three alarm cl ocks that can each be set to go of f once, or daily at a specified time. O nce set, eac h alarm clock is easy to change or turn off completely . Note: Alarm clocks do not function when the phone is turned off.
