34 Section 3 Making a Call There are several ways to make ca lls on your new i830. Y ou ca n use speed di al, voice dial, ca ll history , o r simply enter the desire d number and tap . Note: Keys, such as , are referred to as “soft” keys because they are not part of the hardware.

46 Section 3 Tips for Adapting Digit Dial • Adapt digits in a quiet place. • Make sure you wait for the beep before starting to s peak. • Speak cl early , and say each digit distinctly . • If you make a m istake while recording a sequence of digits, or if there is an unexpected noi se th at spoils the recording, re- record that sequence.
