Getting Started 9 SIM Card Y our phone uses a 4G L TE SIM (Subscriber Identity Mod ule). The 4G L TE SIM is a small, rectangular plastic car d that stores your phone numbe r , informati on about your wireless service, and other informa tion such as messages.
10 Installing the Batter y Important! The battery provided with yo ur device contains a Near Field Communication (NFC) antenna. T o ensure proper operation of the NFC fea tures, do not use any other ba ttery in your device . 1. Insert the batt ery into the opening on the back of the phone, making sure th e connectors align (1).
Getting Started 11 Installing the Memor y Card With the gold con tacts facing do wn, slide the memo ry card into the slot and gently push it int o place. For more information on Memory Cards, see “Memor y Card” on page 35. Remo ving the Memor y Car d Grasp the memor y card and remove it from the phone.
12 Note: Make sure the batter y is properly installed before switching on the phone. Charging a Batter y Y our device is powered by a rechar geable Li-ion battery . The T ra vel Charger tha t is used to charge the batter y , is inc luded with your device.

14 Switching the Phone O n or Off 1. Press and hold until the phone swit ch es on . 2. Swipe your finger across the screen to unlock the phone. Note: The display language is preset to English at the factor y . T o change the langua ge, use the Language menu.
Getting Started 15 Setup W izard The first time you turn your device on, Setup Wizard wil l guide you through the basics of setting up your device. Follow the prompts t o choose a default language, set up accounts, choose location services , and learn more about your device.

Press Home to activate the main Home screen. 2. T ouch and hold the primary shortcut you want to replace, then drag it to an empty space on any Home screen.

36 Unmounting the SD Ca rd Unmounting the SD card prevents corruption and damage to the SD card while removing it from the slot. 1. From a Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔ Storage . 2. Scroll to the bottom of the display and touch Unmount SD card .

40 Copying, Deleting, or Replacing T e xt T o select and copy , delete, or replace text: 1. T ouch and hold the text or word you want to select. The selected text is highli ghted with a tab at each end of the selection. 2. T ouch and drag either tab to select more or less text.

58 Sending Namecards (vCards) Y ou can send a contact nameca rd as a vCards by using Bluetooth devices or as an attachment via Gmail or Email. Important! Not all Bluetooth devices accept contacts , and not all devices support trans fers of multiple contacts.

62 Making Calls from Contacts A contact is an entr y that you have created to s tore the name, phone numbers, and other information for people or groups of interest. For more information, s ee “Contacts” on page 46. 1. From a Home screen, touch Contacts .

64 Making a Call Using Speed Dial Y ou can assign a shor tcut number to a phone number in your Contacts List for speed dialing. 1. From a Home screen, touch Contacts to display your Contacts List. 2. 68 Adjusting the Call V olume During a call, to adjust the volume, use the Volume key on the left side of the phone. Press the Up end of the volume key to increase the volume level and press the Down end of the volume key to decrease the volume level.

78 Emergency Alerts This device is designed to receive wireless emergency alerts from the Commercial Mobile Ale rting System (CMAS) which may also be known as the Personal Localized Alerting Network (PLAN). If your wireless provider has chosen to participate in CMAS/PLAN, alerts are a vailable while i n the provider's coverage area.
Messaging 79 Using Email Email enables you to review and crea te email using various email ser vices. Y ou can als o receive text messa ge alerts when you receive a n important email. T o access the Email app: From the main Home screen, touch Email .

94 Camera Modes There are many different camera mo des that you can use to help optimize your photos d epending on the conditions and your experience. 1.
