8 ,QVWDOOLQ JWKH+D QGVIUHHP LFURSKRQH 1. Connect the microph one ’ s connector jack to th e ‘ MIC ’ terminal on the Hands-free box. 2. Install the microphon e at the proper location. • The Hands-f ree microphone should be inst al led within 12-18 inches (3 0-4 5cm) pro ximit y of the driv er ’ s normal speaking lo cation.

11 Using the Hands-f ree Car Kit &DOLEUD WLRQ The Hands-Free Car Kit needs to b e set for the optimu m calling cond i tio n. 1. Preparation for calibration • Connect the phon e to the Hands-Free Car Kit as illustrated on pa ge 13. • T urn off everything in y our car that makes no ise (radio, air conditioner , etc.
12 Note: If calibration is performed correctly , loud static and a single beep will be heard from the speaker. T hi s i nd icates that the calibration was successful. If calibration is unsuccessfu l, the speaker beeps co nstantly . If this occurs, repeat steps.
13 4. Enter the p hone number . If the other party answers, begin the con versation. • Y ou can speak using the Han ds-free microphone and hear yo ur caller through the speaker . • T o adjust the speaker vo lume, press the volum co n- trol but ton on the si de of your phone.
14 %DWWH UFKDUJLQJ T o charge t he phone ’ s batt ery you must do one of the following: • Keep your car running (recommended) • Make sure the ignition switch is on. Note: If cha rg ing fails, the battery , the batt ery conn ectors o r the phon e may be bad.
15 Using V oice Dial T o use V oice Dial, you need to “ train ” the phon e to recognize your voice. Y ou can put u p to 20 names fr om your A ddress book in to your V oice Dial list. Once you have recorded these names, you can make calls simply by speaking a n ame.

Place the phone in the cradle and wait for the vo ice and text prompts to gu ide you throug h the re- recording process.
17 • If the name is not recognized , the name is asked for again. • If the name is not recognized after two attempts, a message is displayed that says “ Could not reco g- nize name ” . T ry the call again later , or record th e entry name again .
18 0DQDJ LQJRXU9RLFH 'LDO/LVW Y ou can play the reco rded name, re-record the n ame, or erase the recording . Play or Record: 1. From the Phone Menu, tap and select Calls. 2. T ap “ V oice Dial List ” . 3. Select the name to edit and tap “ Modify ” .

20 T roubl eshooting The phone d oes not turn on, even though the Hands-free Car Kit is connected to it. • Check that the p o wer cable of the Hands-free Ca r Kit is properly conn ected to the vehicle battery . Y ou must turn on the vehicle igniti on to supply power to the Hands-free C ar Kit.
