8 .3 < Maintenance> Printing a cleani ng sheet If you are experiencin g blurred, faded, or sme ared printo uts, you can clear the problem by prin ting a clea ning she et, provided by your printer . Y ou can print: • OPC clean ing sheet: c leans the OPC drum of th e toner ca rtridge.
8 .4 < Maintenance> 3 Thoro ughly shake th e cartr idge 4 or 6 times t o distr ibute t he tone r evenly in side the c artridge. 4 Hold the to ner cartrid ge by the han dle and s lowly ins ert the cartridge into the open ing in th e printer .
8 .5 < Maintenance> 4 Locate t he sealing t ape at the end of the toner c artridge. Care fully pull the tape com pletely out of the cartr idge and d iscard it. 5 Thoro ughly shake th e cartr idge 4 or 6 times t o distr ibute t he tone r evenly inside the c artridge.

9 .14 < Troubleshoot ing> Common L inux pro blems A PostScript error pa ge prints. Print job m ay not be PostScript. Make sure that the print job is a PostScript job. Check to see whether the so ftware appl icatio n expe cted a setup or PostScript header file to be sent to the printer .

10 .2 < Installi ng accessories> 3 Grasp the c ontrol boa rd cover and rem ove it. 4 Complete ly open th e latche s on each side of t he DIMM s lot. 5 Remove the m emory DIMM from its a ntista tic pack age. Locate the alignme nt notche s on the botto m edge o f the DIMM .
10 .3 < Installi ng accessories> Removing a DIMM T o exp and the printer memory to 512 MB, y ou need to remove the preinst alled 6 4 MB DI MM and in sta ll two 256 MB DIMM s into t he DIMM slots . Push the l atches at bo th ends of the DIMM slot awa y to remo ve the DIMM and pull out th e DIMM.

Adva nced Printing 21 Using Watermarks The W ater mark option allows y ou to print text ov er an existing document. For example, you may want to have large gray lett ers readi ng “DRAF T” or “CONF IDENTIAL ” printe d diagonall y across the first page or all pages of a d ocument.
