Assembling 10 3 Inser t the SIM card. • Place the SIM card into the devic e with the gold- coloured contacts facing down. • If you do not insert a SIM card, you can only use your device ’ s non-net work services and some menus.
Assembling 11 Charge the batt er y Before using the device f or the rst time, you must charge the battery. Y ou can charge the device with the pr ovided travel adapter or by connecting the device to a PC with a PC data cable. Use only Samsung-approved char gers and cables.
Assembling 12 3 Plug the large end of the trav el adapter into a pow er outlet. • Y ou can use the device while it is charging , but it may take longer to fully charge the battery . • While charging , the device may heat up . This is normal and should not aect your device ’ s lifespan or performance.
Assembling 13 Inser t a memor y card (optional) T o store additional multimedia les, y ou must inser t a memory card. Y our device accepts microSD™ or microSDHC™ memory cards with maximum capacities of 32 GB (depending on memory card manufacturer and type).
Assembling 14 › Remove the memory card Before remo ving a memory card, rst unmount it for safe removal. 1 In Idle mode, select → Settings → SD card, USB Mass Storage & phone stor age → Unmount SD card . 2 Remove the back cov er . 3 Push the memory card gently until it disengages from the device.

Getting started 21 Get to know the idle screen When the device is in Idle mode, you will see the idle screen. F rom the idle screen, you can view y our device’ s status and access applications. The idle screen has multiple panels. Scroll left or right to switch panels.
