Power/Ac cessor y Connector : The power/accessory interfa ce connector is used to plug in the charging acce ssorie s and also connect any available accessory cables to your phone.
13 Command K eys Functions for the soft keys are defined by what appears above eac h in the display . There are two soft keys, the left soft key ( ) and the right soft key ( ). Left Soft Key Some functio ns of the left soft key are as follows. • Press the Message (left) soft key to open the Message menu.

15 Opened Phone Use the Navigation wheel to browse menus , sub-menus, and lists. Each navigation direction point (up, down, le ft, right) acts as a shortcut from the main screen to quickly access applicat ions or menu i tems. Camera Key 1. Note: With the swivel open, the main screen will a ppear like the illustration to the right.
17 Phone Lock : Prevents extern al keys from being used w hen phone is c losed. No service : Y our phone cannot find a signal because you’re outside a ser vice area . Y ou cannot make or receive calls. Wait for a signal o r move to an open area t o find a signal.

Bluetooth Connected : Indicates Bluetooth wi reless technolog y is turned on and is paired with another Bluetoot h-enabled device.

Understandi ng Yo ur Phone 20 Battery Using A Non-Suppor ted Batter y Samsung handsets do not support the use of a non-supported b a ttery. When using a non-su pported ba tter y you will hear a series of beeps and you will see a warning message that indicates “ NON SUPPORTED BA TTERY SEE USER GUIDE ”.
21 2. Push the bottom end of th e battery down until it sna ps securely into place over the battery release latch. R emov e the Batter y 1. Press to turn off the phone (if on). 2. Press the battery release latch at th e bottom of the pho ne. The bottom of the battery should pop up.
Understandi ng Yo ur Phone 22 Battery 3. Use your finger to lift the battery (bot tom end first) up and away from the phone. Charge the Batter y Y our phone is powered by a rechargeable standard Li-ion batter y . Only use Samsung-approved charging devices an d batteries.

Four bars indicate a full charge, while an empty icon indicates an almost empty batt ery. T wo to three minutes be fore the batt ery become s too low to operate, a blinking empty battery icon appears and a tone sounds.

29 Recent Calls When you place, miss, or receive a call, a reco rd of the call is saved in Recent Calls, which is a listing of the different types of calls you either made or received. These types of calls are listed below. • Missed : Displays any missed calls.

V oiceSignal software aut omatically voice activates al l contacts for voice dialing and finding contacts.

51 Entering T ext Using W or d Mode Wor d recognizes the mo st commonly used word for an y sequence of key presses and inserts that word into your message. It’ s much faster than the traditional method of text entry (Abc) and requires only one ke y press per letter of the word that you’re spelling.

Note: T o quickly view all messa ges in the Inbox , or Sent folders, ope n one messag e and then use the Naviga tion wheel to view the next messa ge or use the Nav igation whee l to view the previou s message.

83 Blueto oth Menu About Bluetooth Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communications technology ca pable of exchanging information over a distance of about 30 feet withou t requiring a physical connection. Unlike infrared, you don't need to line up the devic es to beam inform ation with Bluetooth.
