Assembling 12 Install the SIM or USIM card When you subscribe to a c ellular ser vice , you will r eceive a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card, with subscription details, such as y our personal identification number (PIN) and optional ser vices.
Assembling 13 Charge the battery only with a charger . Y ou cannot ● charge the battery with the USB cable. When your batt er y is low , the device will emit a ● warning tone and display a lo w battery message. T he battery icon will also be empty .
Assembling 14 Plug the USB pow er adapter into a po wer outlet. 2 Y ou can use the device while it is charging, but it ma y ● take longer to fully charge the batt er y . While the device is charg ing , the touch screen ma y ● not function due to an unstable power supply .
Assembling 15 Samsung uses approv ed industr y standards f or memory cards , but some brands may not be fully c ompatible with your device . Using an inc ompatible memor y card may damage your devic e or the memor y card and can corrupt data stor ed on the card .
Assembling 16 Remov e the memor y card › Before r emoving a memory card, first unmount it f or saf e remov al. Open the application list and select 1 Settings → Stor age → Unmount SD card . Open the memor y card co ver . 2 Push the memory card gently until it disengages from the 3 device.

Getting star ted 33 Draw a patt ern by dragging y our finger to connect at least 3 4 dots and select Continue . Draw the patt ern again to confirm and select 4 Confirm . Set an unlock PIN code Open the application list and select 1 Settings → L ocation and security → C onfigur e lock screen → PIN .
Getting star ted 34 Once the PIN lock is enabled, y ou must enter the PIN each time you turn on the device . If you enter an incorr ect PIN too many times, y our SIM ● or USIM card will be blocked . Y ou must enter a PIN unlock key (PUK ) to unblock the SIM or USIM card .
