Capturing photos Basic functions 32 Zooming Y ou can capture close-up photos by adjusting the zoom. Zoom out Zoom in Zoom ratio When you rotat e the zoom button, the zoom ra tio shown on the screen may change inconsistently . Digital zoom Digital zoom is supported by default in Shooting mode.
Capturing photos Basic functions 33 Intelli zoom If the zoom indicator is in the Intelli range, y our camera is using Intelli zoom. Phot o resolution varies accor ding to the zoom ratio if y ou use Intelli zoom. By using both Optical zoom and Intelli zoom, you can z oom in up to 24 times.

Extended functions 38 Using the Smart Auto mode In Smar t Auto mode , your camera automatically chooses the appr opriate camera settings based on the type of scene it detects. The Smart Auto mode is helpful if you are not familiar with the camera settings f or various scenes.

Shooting in the dark Shooting options 54 Adjusting the ISO sensitivity The ISO sensitivity is the measure of a lm ’ s sensitivity to light as dened by the International Organization for S tandardization (ISO). The higher ISO sensitivity you select, the more sensitive to light y our camera becomes.
Shooting options 55 Using macro Use macro to captur e close-up photos of subjec ts, such as ow ers or insects. (Refer to "Using auto f ocus" .) • T ry to hold the camera rmly to prevent blurry photos. • T urn o the ash if the distance to the subject is less than 15.

If you want the color of your phot o to be realistic, select a White Balance setting that is appropriate f or the lighting conditions, such as A uto WB , Daylight, Cloudy , or T ungsten.

Shooting options 65 Using burst modes It can be dicult to capture photos of fast-moving subjects or capture natural facial expr essions and gestures of y our subjects in photos. Also , it can be dicult to adjust the exposure correctly and select a proper light sourc e.

Sharpness Description – Soften the edges on your photos (suitable for editing the photos on your comput er). + Sharpen the edges to improv e the clarity of your photos.

Y ou can easily send photos or videos to your smart phone. • The MobileLink feature is supported by smart phones or tablets running Android OS or iOS.
