English - 15 C onnections Step 1: Connecting the Antenna Cable There are several ways to connect your DVD Recorder & VCR. Select the antenna connection that best suits you below . Antenna + DVD Recorder & VCR + TV : No Cable box Y ou can record non-scrambled channels by selecting the channel on the DVD Recorder & VCR.
16 - English C onnections Antenna + Cable box + DVD Recorder & VCR + TV : Cable box with many scrambled channels Y ou can record channels by selecting the channel on the cable box. Y ou cannot record one channel while watching another channel. Be sure that the cable box is turned on.
English - 17 C onnections Antenna + DVD Recorder & VCR + Cable box + TV : Cable box with a few scrambled channels Y ou can record non-scrambled channels by selecting the channel on the cable box. Y ou cannot record scrambled channels that require a cable box.

24 - English Step 4 : Connecting HDMI/DVI to a TV Connecting to a TV with HDMI Jack Using an HDMI- HDMI cable(not included) connect the HDMI OUT jack on the rear of the DVD Recorder to the HDMI IN jack of your TV . Press the input selector on your TV remote control until the HDMI signal from the DVD Recorder appears on your TV screen.
English - 25 Connecting to a TV with DVI Jack Using an HDMI-DVI cable (not included), connect the HDMI OUT terminal on the rear of the DVD Recorder to the DVI IN terminal of your TV . Using the audio cables, connect the AUDIO (red and white) OUT terminals on the rear of the DVD Recorder to the AUDIO (red and white) IN terminals of your TV .
26 - English C onnections Step 5 : Connecting External Devices This allows you to connect your DVD Recorder & VCR to other external devices and view or record their outputs.
English - 27 C onnections AUDIO VIDEO R L OUTPUT Audio/Video Cable Camcorder Connecting a Camcorder to the A V 2 IN jacks Y ou can also use the A V 2 IN jacks on the front panel of the DVD Recorder & VCR. Y ou can record from connected equipment, such as a camcorder .
28 - English C onnections DV OUT DV Cable (not supplied) Camcorder Connecting a Camcorder to the DV IN jack If your camcorder has a DV output jack, connect it to the DV input jack of your DVD Recorder & VCR. ■ If the input is not selected automatically , use INPUT SEL.
English - 29 C onnections After all connections are complete, plug the power cord in the wall outlet. “Auto” appears in the front panel display . This means that the current time is being set automati- cally through the antenna under connection(Auto Program).

Playback and/or recording may not work for some types of discs or when specific operations, such as angle change and aspect ratio adjustment, are being performed.

62 - English R ecording ■ Finalize - This closes the DVD-RW/±R so no additional recording can be done. ■ Unfinalize - This allows additional recording on a DVD-RW disc originally recorded on the DVD-VR335. - A DVD-RW disc that has been recorded by DAO(Disc At Once) in a PC cannot be unfinalized.
English - 63 R ecording Recording Formats When you insert an unused disc, the following message appears. Since available functions differ depending on the disc type, select a disc that best fits your prefer- ences. DVD-RAM: Use after formatting the disc.
64 - English R ecording Concerning Copy Control Signals TV broadcasts that contain copy control signals may have one of the following three signal types, Copy-Free, Copy- Once and Copy-Never . If you want to record a copy-once type program, use DVD-R W with CPRM in VR Mode or DVD-RAM discs.
