IP Keysets Intended Use This IP terminal is intended to be connec ted to an I P a ccess po int ind irec tly co n- nected to an IP interface of a Samsung OfficeServ converge d communication sys- tem . The connecti on al lows voice communication between the central processor u nit and the telephone a s well as feed-t hrough IP traffic to a PC.
i About This Guide This User ’ s Guide provid es instructions for using Samsung’ s latest IT P- 5012L Internet Phone and DS-5012L Digital Phone in conjunction with the Samsung Enterprise IP Solutions OfficeServ telephone system. Both are large LCD phones which display icons and menus to allow fas t and easy selection of functions and features.

Setting System Authentication Information This function is used to set the IP addr ess of the system connected to the IP phone, and the authentication ID and password of the IP phone. The ID and password are used only when setting up the IP phone and are not r equired while operating it.

Features are shown as icons or menus on the LCD screen, just like a mobile phone.
Main Features DS/IT P-5012L Phone User Guide 39 Automatic Redial/Retr y Hold Conference Calls This button is used when multiple callers need to be connected simultaneously during a phone conversa- tion. Up to five parties (you and four others) can be connected for a conference call.

When a call arrives, a call receipt message will be displayed on the LCD. 2. Lift the handset. The call is automat ically connected to your phone for you to answer .

Making Calls DS/ITP-5012L Phone User Guide 67 Setting a Callback on an Outside Line If you receive a busy signal when selecting an outside line, this means that the line or group of lines is busy . The callback function allows a call to be placed in queue for a busy out side line.
Making Calls DS/ITP-5012L Phone User Guide 68 Q Answering a Callback 1. Lift the handset. Y ou will hear dial tone. Dial the out side telephone numb er and press the [Send] button. 2. Begin speaking when th e called party answers. A callback will be cancelled if not answered with in 30 seconds.

After disconnecting your call, press the [Selection] but ton for [NEW] displayed on the screen. 2. Dial the new telephone number and press the [Send] button.

Making Calls DS/ITP-5012L Phone User Guide 72 4. Other Call Functions The following functions are available for making both intercom and out side call. Last Number Redial Press and hold the [Send] button while in standby mode. The phone redials the last telephone number that you dialled.

77 HANDLING CALLS 1. Intercom Calls The following features can be used during an intercom call. The Hold fea- ture is useful for temporarily disconnecting a call to which you want to re- turn. T o hold a call and answer a waiting call, refer to Answering a Waiting Call in Answering Calls .

Handling Calls DS/ITP-5012L Phone User Guide 79 Hold an External Call Y ou can put a call on hold and resume the call later . 1. Press the [Hold ] button to put the call on hold z Pressing the [Hold] button once puts the call on ‘system hold’ so you can reconnect to the call from any phone.
Handling Calls DS/ITP-5012L Phone User Guide 80 Hold an External Call and Make an Intercom Cal l Y ou can put an external call on hold and make a call to another station. This is useful, for example, if yo u need to consult with a colleague dur- ing your call.
