8 .1 < Scanning > 8 Scanni ng Scanning with yo ur machin e let s you t urn pict ures and text into digit al files that can be s tored on you r computer . Then you can fax or email the files, up load th em to yo ur website, or use them to c reate pr ojects that you can print.
8 .2 < Scanning > Scanning u sing a net work connectio n If you hav e conne cted y our mach ine to a network an d set up netwo rk par ameters c orrectly , you can sca n and sen d imag es over t he netwo rk.

11 .2 < Using USB flash m emory> Scanning to a USB memory device Y ou can scan a document and save the scanned image onto a USB memory device. Th er e are two ways of doing thi s: you can scan to the device using the default settings, or you can customize your own scan settings.
