4 PREPARATION Your per sonal al arm requi res one 12-volt batt ery (not supplied) for power . For the best per formance and longest lif e, we rec- ommend an al kali ne bat tery, such as Ra- dioSha ck Cat. No. 23- 144. Cauti on: Use only a fresh batte ry of the requi red s ize a nd rec ommended type.
5 Then fol low these step s to instal l the bat - te ry. 1. Use a Phil lip s screwdriv er to r emove the scr ew from t he b attery co mpart - ment co ver , then rem ove the cove r .
6 2. Be sure t he wrist strap’ s plug is firml y inse r ted into the personal al arm’ s jack . Then place the batte r y in the com partment as indicat ed by t he polar ity symbol s (+ and –) marked insi de.
7 3. Replace t he cov er, then r einse rt and tight en th e scr ew . You can put a phot o or anyt hing els e of that s ize in the h older. Then pl ace t he pro- te ctive cover over it.
