Quick Star t The following st eps will help you set up your Auro D1800 active subw oofer . • Unpack the Auro D1800 and included c ompo - nents. Be sure to sa ve the packaging in case you ever move , or need to send the unit for service. • Set the Auro D1800 subw oofer and satellite speaker(s) appropriately f or the per formance venue.
C ontrols and F unc tions 1. MASTER LEVEL - This control adjusts the o verall signal level at the input of the D1800's power amplifier . This contr ol does not affect the signal sent to the Full Range and High Pass Outputs. 2. PHASE S witch - Use this switch to set the polarity of the amplied signal.
C ontrols and F unc tions 8. FULL RANGE Outputs (L and R) - Electronically balanced full range male XLR ste- reo line outputs. These outputs can be used to connect another subw oofer , or send full range signal to your main P A loudspeakers. 9. C onguring Y our Speaker S ystem In larger rooms, as w ell as in theatres and theme park installations (for low fr e - quency special audio effects), two Auro D1800's can be used in stereo . For addi- tional low-end, you can daisy chain a pair of Auro D1800 sub woofers to each side of your speaker system.
Operating the A uro D1800 The Aur o D1800 is a per fect addition to any pair of powered full range enclosur es (like the Samson Auro D412 and A uro D415). Below is a typical system set-up using the D1800 with a mixer and a pair of pow ered satellite loudspeakers.

Phase and P olarity A speaker reproduces sound b y converting elec trical signal into phy sical vibration. This physical vibr ation, in turn, pushes air to create sound waves . When setting up y our speaker system, the goal is to hav e all speakers moving in phase, with the in and out movement of the speakers synchr onized.
