W elcome to Samson AirLine—the wireless system for the new millenium! Wireless microphone and instrument systems were originally developed to eliminate cables, providing unpar alleled freedom of movement.
If you’ ve had some prior experience using wireless systems, these Quic kStart instructions will get you up and running with your AirLine system in a matter of minutes! Detailed instructions for set.
8. T urn on your AH1 transmitter . If your system contains an AR1 receiver , its “Power/ RF” LED should c hange color from red to green, indicating that it is receiving v alid RF signal and is placed and positioned correctly .
1: Antenna - T his swi vel mounting allows full rotation for optimum placement of the antenna. In normal operation, the antenna should be placed in a vertical position.
6 Balanced output* - Use this electronically balanced low impedance (600 - 2500 Ohm) XLR jack w hen connecting the AR1 to professional (+4) audio equipment.
1: Antennas (A and B) - T he antenna mountings allow full rotation for optimum placement. In normal operation, both Antenna A (the antenna on the left) and Antenna B (the antenna on the right) should be placed in a v ertical position. Both antennas can be folded inward for conv enience w hen transporting the UR1.
4: A/B Receiver LEDs - When signal is being recei ved, one of these will be lit green, showing you w hether the (left) “ A ” or (right) “B” receiver is currently being used. T he UR1 constantly scans its two antennas and automatically selects w hichever is recei ving th e strongest, clearest signal.
1: DC input - Connect the supplied 12 volt 160 mA power adapter here, using the strain relief as shown in the illustration below . W ARNING: Do not substitute any other kind of power adapter; doing so can cause severe damage to the UR1 and will void y our w arranty .
9 Samson AirLine 1: A/B Receiver LEDs - When signal is being recei ved, one of these will be lit orange, showing y ou whether the (left) “ A ” or (right) “B” receiv er is currently being used. T he UM1 constantly scans its two antennas and automatically selects w hic hever is receiving the strongest, clearest signal.
Guided T our - UM1 Receiv er 10 Samson AirLine 6: Battery holder - Insert a standard 9-v olt alkaline battery here, being sure to observe the plus and minus polarity markings shown. W e recommend the Duracell MN 1604 type battery . Although rec hargeable Ni-Cad batteries can be used, they do not supply adequate current for more than four hours.
11 Samson AirLine 12: Level contr ol - T his knob sets the level of the audio signal being sent to the headphones output (see #13 below). 13: Headphones output - Connect a stereo headphone to this standard 1/8" (3.5 mm) mini-phone jack in order to monitor the signal being output b y the UM1.
Guided T our - AH1 Headset T r ansmitter 12 Samson AirLine 1: P ower / Batter y LED - This LED flashes once when the AH1 is first turned on and lights steadily red when there is less than 2 hours of battery power remaining, indicating that the battery needs to be changed.
13 Samson AirLine 4: Mute switch - Mo ve this switch in the direction of the arro w to mute the AH1; mov e it awa y from the arrow to unmute it and trans- mit audio signal. Because the carrier signal remains during muting, no “pop” or “thud” will be heard.
14 Samson AirLine AH1 As shown in the illustration abo ve, the correct wa y to wear your QV / QE Headset is o ver the ears, as you would wear a pair of eyeglasses. Because the QV / QE Headset is specially designed to be used up close, be sure to mount the microphone directly in front of y our lips.
15 Samson AirLine 1: Audio-T echnica Pro 35X horn micr ophone - T his microphone is “hard-wired” to a Samson AH1 headset transmitter (see #2 below). See the supplied Audio-T echnica owners manual for microphone positioning instructions. 2: Samson AH1 headset transmitter - See pages 13 - 14 in this manual for more information.
16 Samson AirLine T he basic procedure for setting up and using your AirLine System takes only a few minutes: 1. F or your AirLine system to work correctly , both the receiver and transmitter must be set to the same c hannel.
17 Samson AirLine video camera), then plug the adapter into any standard A C outlet. Slide the P ower switch in the direction of the arro w to turn on the receiver . If your system contains an AR1 receiver , its “Po wer/ RF” LED will light steadily red; if your system contains a UR1 receiv er , its “P ower” LED will light steadily red.
18 Samson AirLine 13. T emporarily turn down the lev el of your mixer/amplifier system and turn off the power to y our transmitter , lea ving the receiver on. T hen restore the previously set level of your mixer/amplifier . W ith the transmitter off, the receiver output should be totally silent—if it is, skip ahead to the next step.

7. Placez le récepteur sous tension. Si votre système est pourvu d'un récepteur AR1 ou UR1, son témoin "P ower" doit alors s'allumer en rouge. Note : Le récepteur UM1 n'est doté d'aucun témoin de ce type. 8. Placez l'émetteur AH1 sous tension.
1: Antenne – L'antenne peut piv oter pour un placement optimal. En conditions d'utilisation normales, laissez l'antenne à la verticale.
6: Sortie symétrique* - Sortie basse impédance (600 - 2500 Ohms) à symétrie électronique sur embase XLR permettant la connexion de l'AR1 à des appareils audio professionnels (+4dBu). Brochage : masse sur broche1, point c haud sur broche2 et point froid sur broche3.
1: Antennes (A et B) - Les différents montages possibles des antennes permettent leur rotation complète pour obtenir une localisation opti- male. En fonctionnement normal, l’antenne A (située à gauche) et l’antenne B (située à droite) doivent être placées en position verticale.
4: LEDs des antennes A et B - En présence de signal, l’une des deux diodes s’allume en vert et indique ainsi quelle antenne, "A" (à gauche) ou "B" (à droite) est en fonctionnement. Le récepteur UR1 bala ye constamment les deux antennes et choisit automatiquement celle qui reçoit le signal le plus fort et le plus clair .
1: Connecteur d’alimentation - Connectez à cet endroit l’adaptateur 12 volts-160 mA fourni, a vec le clip de maintien en vous référant à l’il- lustration (ci-dessous). A TTENTION : n’utilisez aucun autre type d’adaptateur , au risque d’endom- mager sérieusement votre récepteur UR1 et de voir v otre garantie annulée.
27 Samson AirLine 1 : Témoins d'activité des récepteurs A/B - Lors de la réception du signal, l'un de ces témoin s'allume en orange indiquant le récepteur en cours d'utilisation (A = témoin gauche ; B = témoin droit).
V isite guidée – Récepteur UM1 28 Samson AirLine 6 : T rappe de la pile - Insérez dans cette tr appe une pile alcaline 9 V olts en respectant bien la polarité (+ et -). Même s'il est possible d'utiliser des piles au Nickel-Cadmium rec hargeables, elles ne donnent de puissance suffisante que pendant quatre heures.
29 Samson AirLine 12 : P otentiomètre de niv eau de la prise casque - Ce potentiomètre permet de régler le niveau de sortie du signal dirigé à la prise casque (v oir n°13 ci-dessous).
V isite guidée – Emetteur serre-tête AH1 30 Samson AirLine 1 : Témoin d'alimentation/d'usure de la pile – Ce témoin clignote une fois lors de la première mise en service de l'AH1.
31 Samson AirLine 4 : Sélecteur Mute – Le fait de placer le sélecteur Mute sur la flèche coupe (Mute) l'AH1 ; ramenez-le en position in verse pour réactiver l'AH1 et qu'il puisse tr ansmettre le signal audio.
32 Samson AirLine AH1 Comme le montre l'illustration ci-dessous, le serre-tête QV/QE se porte au-dessus des oreilles (comme une banale paire de lunettes). Comme le serre-tête QV/QE est prévu pour être utilisé en prise r approchée, placez le microphone directement en face des lèvres.
33 Samson AirLine 1 : Microphone A udio-T ec hnica Pro 35X – Ce microphone est relié à un émetteur serre-tête Samson AH1 (voir n° 2 ci-dessous). V ous trouverez les consignes de placement du microphone dans le mode d'emploi Audio-T echnica fourni.
34 Samson AirLine * Les sorties asymétrique et symétrique peuvent être utilisées simultanément. Les réglages de configuration et d'utilisation de votre système AirLine ne prennent que quelques petites minutes : 1.
35 Samson AirLine peut être alimenté en 12 V olts depuis une caméra vidéo). Placez le récepteur sous tension en plaçant son interrupteur d'alimentation en direction de la flèche. Si v otre système est doté d'un récepteur AR1, son témoin "P ower/ RF" doit alors s'allumer en rouge.
36 Samson AirLine configuration audio (voir mode d'emploi de la console et de mixage et/ou de l'amplificateur pour de plus amples détails), puis vérifiez que le potentiomètre V olume, Level ou AF Lev el du récepteur est bien réglé complètement à droite.

F alls Sie bereits Erfahrung mit Wireless-Systemen besitzen, handelt es sich bloß um einen Sac he von Minuten, bis Sie mit Hilfe dieser K urzanleitung Ihr System eingeric htet und in Betrieb gesetzt haben.
7. Schalten Sie den Empfänger ein. Besitzen Sie ein System mit einem AR1 oder UR1 Empfänger , leuc htet dessen "Po wer"-LED dauer- haft rot. (Anmerkung: Der UM1 Empfänger hat keine solche LED .) 8. Schalten Sie jetzt Ihren AH1 Sender ein.
1: Antenne - Die Antenne hat einen Drehradius von 360°, um eine optimale Aufstellung zu ermöglichen. Sie läßt sich zum T ransport des M32 einschieben. W eitere Informationen erhalten Sie unter „K onfiguration und Betrieb der AirLine-Systeme“ auf Seite 52 dieses Handbuches.
6: Symmetrischer Ausgang* - Niedrigimpedanz-A usgang (600 - 2500 Ohms) mit elektronischer Symmetrie am XLR-Stec ker , die die V erbindung des AR1 mit fachmännischen Audio-Geräten ermöglic ht (+4). Belegung der Stifte: Stift 1 auf Masse, Stift 2 auf Plus-P ol und Stift 3 auf Minus-P ol.
1: Antennen (A und B) - Die Antennenhalter haben einen Drehradius von 360°, um eine optimale Aufstellung zu erlauben. Bei normalem Betrieb sollten die beiden Antennen A (links) und B (rechts) senkrec ht aufgestellt werden. Die Antennen lassen sich zum Tr ansport des UR1 einschieben.
4: A/B-LEDs - Wenn ein Signal empfangen wird, leuc htet eine dieser beiden LEDs grün auf und zeigt so an, welche der beiden Antennen A (links) und B (rechts) gerade verwendet wird. Der UR1 prüft das Empfangssignal beider Antennen kontinuierlich und wählt automatisch das stärkere und damit klarere Empfangssignal aus.
1: Anschluß für das Netzteil - Schließen Sie hier das beiliegende Netzteil wie unten dargestellt an. A CHTUNG: V erwenden Sie niemals ein anderes als das beiliegende Netzgerät, da ansonsten der UR1 beschädigt werden könnte und Ihre Garantie erlischt.
45 Samson AirLine 1. A/B Empfänger -LEDs - W enn ein Signal empfangen wird, leuchtet eine dieser beiden LEDs orange auf und zeigt Ihnen so an, welche der beiden Empfänger A (links) oder B (rechts) gerade v erwendet wird.
Übersicht - Empfänger UM1 46 Samson AirLine 5. SQL-(„Squelch“)-Regler - Dieser Regler bestimmt den maximalen Empfangsbereich des UM1 v or dem Absc hneiden des A udiosignals. Obwohl Sie den Regler mit Hilfe des beiliegenden Plastikschraubdrehers einstellen können, empfehlen wir Ihnen, die werkseitige Einstellung beizubehalten.
47 Samson AirLine 11. Audio-A usgangspegelregler - Dieser Regler stellt den Audio-Ausgangspegel des symmetrierten und unsymmetrierten Ausgangs (s. Nr 10 und Nr 14) auf -30 dBm (Mikrofonpegel), -20 dBm oder -10 dBm (Line-P egel) ein.
Übersicht - K opfbügel-Sender AH1 48 Samson AirLine 1: Anzeige der Lebensdauer der Batterie - Diese Anzeige blinkt einmal beim ersten Einschalten des AH1. Sonst sollte sie rot leuchten. Sie fängt jedoch an zu blinken, wenn nur 2 Stunden Lebensdauer der Batterie übrigbleibt.
49 Samson AirLine 4: Mute-Schalter - W enn Sie den Mute-Schalter in die Richtung des Pfeils drüc ken, (Mute) schalten Sie den AH1 stumm. W enn Sie ihn in die andere Richtung drüc ken, wird der AH1 wieder akti viert, und kann ein A udio-Signal senden.
50 Samson AirLine AH1 W ie es die Abbildung zeigt, wird der K opfbügel QV/QE über die Ohren getragen (wie eine normale Brille). Da der K opfbügel QV/QE für Nahaufnahmen gedacht ist, halten Sie das Mikrofon direkt v or den Lippen. Um jedes F eedback zu verhindern, überdec ken Sie nicht die Mikrofon-Kapsel mit Ihrer Hand.
51 Samson AirLine 1: „Audio-T echnica Pro 35X“-Mikr ofon – Dieses Mikrofon für Blasinstrumente ist fest mit einem Samson-AH1-Headset-Sender v erbunden (siehe 2., direkt hier drunter). Siehe entsprechendes Audio-T ec hnica-Bedienungshandbuch für Instruktionen zur Mikrofonbefestigung.
52 Samson AirLine * F alls notwendig, können Sie den unsymmetriert und den symmetrierten Ausgang gleichzeitig v erwenden. Die wesentlichen Sc hritte, die erforderlich sind, um Ihr AirLine System einzurichten und verwenden zu können, bedürfen nur weniger Minuten: 1.
53 Samson AirLine Ihren Verstärker (und/oder Misc her) vorläufig noch ausgesc haltet. 7. Drehen Sie die Volume, Lev el oder AF Lev el Regler am Empfänger ganz nach links.

F alls dem so ist und das v om Empfänger kommende Signal immer noch schw ach und/oder verrausc ht ist, halten Sie da s Mikrofon einfach näher an Ihren Mund.

7. Encienda el receptor . Si su sistema dispone de un receptor AR1 o UR1, su piloto “P ower” se quedará iluminado en rojo. (Nota: el receptor UM1 no tiene ningún piloto luminoso).
1: Antena – El montaje de tipo giratorio permite una total rotación de la antena para su óptima colocación. En condiciones normales de funcionamiento, debería colocar la antena en posición vertical. Puede plegarla dentro de sí misma para más facilidad en el transporte del AR1.
6: Salida no balanceada* - Utilice este conector de 6.3 mm no bal- anceado de alta impedancia (5 - 10 K Ohmnios) cuando esté conectan- do el AR1 a un aparato de audio no-profesional (-10). El cableado interno es el siguiente: punta activ o, lateral toma de tierra.
1: Antenas (A y B) - Los puntos de montaje de antena permiten una rotación total para conseguir una colocación óptima de las mismas. En su funcionamiento normal, tanto la antena A (la de la izquierda), como la antena B (la antena de la derecha) deberían estar colocadas en una posición vertical.

1: Entrada DC - Conecte aquí el adaptador de corriente de 12 voltios y 160 mA que se incluye, utilizando la pestaña anti-tirones tal como se ve en la ilustración de abajo. A TENCION: No sustituya este adapta- dor por otro de ningún otro tipo; el hacer esto puede producir serios daños en el UR1 y anulará su garantía.
63 Samson AirLine 1: Pilotos de antena A/B - Cuando se está recibiendo señal, uno de estos pilotos se ilu- mina en naranja, indicando que se está utilizando en ese momento bien la antena “ A ” (izquierda) o la “B” (derecha).

65 Samson AirLine 11: Interruptor de nivel de salida de audio - Ajusta la atenuación del niv el de sal- ida audio de tanto la salida balanceada como la no balanceada (vea los puntos 10 anterior y 14 siguiente) a -30 dBm (nivel de micro), -20 dBm o -10 dBm (ni vel de línea).
Recorrido guiado – T r ansmisor de diadema AH1 66 Samson AirLine 1: Piloto LED P ower / Batter y – Este piloto parpadea una vez cuando enciende el AH1 por primera vez y queda iluminado fijo en rojo cuando quedan menos de dos horas de carga en la pila, para indicarle que debe cambiarla por otr a nueva.
67 Samson AirLine 4: Interruptor de anulación – P ara anular la señal del AH1 desplace este interruptor en la dirección de la flec ha; desplácelo al lado opuesto para dejar sin efecto la anulación y transmitir la señal audio.
68 Samson AirLine AH1 Como se muestra en la ilustración anterior , la forma correcta de colocarse su diadema QV / QE es sobre los oídos, como si se colocase una gafas. Dado que la diadema QV / QE ha sido diseñada especialmente para una colocación muy cercana, asegúrese de colocar el micrófono directamente delante de sus labios.
69 Samson AirLine 1: Micrófono para tr ompeta Audio-T echnica Pro 35X - Este micrófono está "conectado de forma fija" a un tr ansmisor de diadema Samson AH1 (vea el punto 2 siguiente). Vea en el manual de instrucciones de Audio-T ec hnica que se adjunta las instrucciones de colocación del micrófono.
70 Samson AirLine El procedimiento básico de ajuste y uso de su sistema AirLine solo le llevará unos pocos minutos: 1. P ara que su sistema AirLine funcione correctamente, tanto el receptor como el tr ansmisor deberán estar ajustados al mismo canal.
