3-PRONG GROUNDED TYPE PLUG This appliance is equipped with a grounded type 3-wire cord (3- prong plug). This plug will only fit into an electrical outlet made for a 3-prong plug. This is a safety feature. If the plug should fail to fit the outlet, contact an electrician to replace the obsolete outlet.

This is normal, and should not be cause for alarm. BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME Remove all packaging from the Kettle and its Power Base.

Gently position the Kettle over the power connector and centered on the Power Base, taking care not to spill any water .
TO BOIL A SECOND POT OF W A TER T urn the Kettle OFF for 15 minutes and allow it to cool. W ARNING: Failure to allow Kettle to cool may cause water to overheat and spray hot steam.
