4 P olariz ed Plug This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). T o reduce the risk of electr ic shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one wa y . If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, re verse the plug.

6 Bef ore Using Y our Express K ettle Carefully unpack y our Express Kettle and remo v e all packaging materials. Place your Express K ettle on a le vel surf ace such as a counter top or table . Thoroughly clean your K ettle bef ore using. Remov e K ettle from the P ower Base .
5. Place the K ettle on the P ower Base , engaging the connector into the bottom of the K ettle. Be careful not to spill any water onto the P ower Base . 6. Plug the P ower Base into 120V ~ 60 Hz electrical outlet. 7. Press the ON/OFF Le ver do wn, into the ON position, the Indicator Light will come on.
8 4. Rinse the inside of the K ettle with water , and wipe it with a damp cloth. NO TE: Do not use highly corrosive or abrasiv e cleaning agents or brushes. 5. Wipe the P ower Base unit with a damp cloth. 6. T o remov e any discoloration from inside the K ettle, rub baking soda on a damp cloth ov er the metal.
