4 P olariz ed Plug This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wide than the other). T o reduce the risk of electr ic shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one wa y . If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, re verse the plug.
5 Bef ore Using Y our Express K ettle Thoroughly clean your K ettle bef ore using. Fill the K ettle to its maximum capacity (1 or 1.5 litres depending on model) with w ater and boil. See boiling instr uctions. When the unit shuts off, discard the water .
6 3. Raise the ON/OFF Le ver into the OFF position. 4. Open the Lid by pulling bac k on the Lid Release. Fill the K ettle with the desired amount of water . Close the Lid and wipe e xcess water off the K ettle. NO TE: If the Lid is not proper ly closed, the K ettle will not auto- matically shut off .
