2 IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and injury to persons, including the following: • Read all instructions before using appliance. • Do not touch hot surfaces.
3 • Do not pour liquid other than water and the cleaning solution specified in this manual into the water reservoir. See instructions for cleaning. • Do not attempt to move Coffee Maker containing hot liquids. Allow it to cool completely before moving.
4 POLARIZED PLUG: This appliance has a polarized plug, (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug.
5 Before Brewing Coffee For The First Time CAUTION: T o protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the Coffee Maker or allow AC cord to come into contact with water or other liquids. 1. After carefully unpacking from carton, the inside of your Coffee Maker and thermal carafe must be cleaned.
6 • To serve, press down on black button and pour. • Store coffee in a cool, dry place. Once coffee has been opened, keep it tightly sealed in the refrigerator to maintain freshness. • For optimum coffee, buy whole beans and grind them finely just before brewing.
7 3. Place coffee grounds in the filter, using one level tablespoon of drip grind coffee for each cup of brewed coffee. 4. T urn the filter basket so that the 2 guides are facing away from you. Firmly replace the removable filter basket by pushing it down into the filter basket cavity in the front of the Coffee Maker.
8 Setting the Timer 1. While holding the PROGRAM button down, press and hold the HOUR button until the hour display begins to change. The coffee cup icon on the left of the display will flash to indicate you are programming the timer.
9 IMPORTANT : When using the Auto Pause and Pour Feature while the Coffee Maker is still brewing, the thermal carafe must be replaced on the base plate, under the Filter Basket within 20 seconds to prevent the Filter Basket from overflowing. T o Brew a Second Pot of Coffee • T o brew a second pot of coffee, wait 15 minutes and allow it to cool.
10 Use and Care For Y our Thermal Carafe A damaged thermal carafe may result in possible burns from hot liquid. T o avoid breaking a carafe: 1. Discard carafe if damaged in any manner . A chip or crack could result in breakage. 2. Do not use cleaning agents or wire bottle brushes to clean the inside of the thermal carafe.
11 This condition is caused by a build-up of lime and mineral deposits from your water. If the pumping action stops before all the water has been pumped out of the machine, then the appliance requires decalcification. The frequency of decalcification depends on the hardness of water used.

23 Réglage de l’horloge 1. Brancher le cordon d’alimentation dans la prise murale. L ’affichage se met à clignoter jusqu’à ce que l’heure du jour soit réglée. REMARQUE : Une coupure de courant ferait à nouveau clignoter l’affichage, il faudrait alors à nouveau régler l’horloge.
24 Réglage de la minuterie 1. Tout en maintenant le bouton ‘PROGRAM’ vers le bas, maintenir enfoncé le bouton des heures ‘HOUR’ jusqu’à ce que l’af f i c h a g e commence à changer. L’icône représentant une tasse de café commence à clignoter sur la gauche de l’af f i c h a g e .
25 Démarrage différé à l’heure programmée du processus de filtration du café La cafetière s’allume automatiquement à l’heure programmée. Le voyant de marche ‘ON’ s’allume lorsque la cafetière commence à filtrer le café et que celui-ci s’écoule dans le pot à café isotherme.
26 Filtration d’un second pot de café • Pour filtrer un second pot de café, éteindre la cafetière pendant 15 minutes de manière à ce qu’elle refroidisse. Vider le marc de café puis répéter les étapes du processus de filtration du café.
27 Entretien et nettoyage 1. V eiller à ce que la cafetière soit sur la position d’arrêt ‘OFF’ ; le voyant de marche ‘ON’ est alors éteint. 2. Débrancher et laisser refroidir intégralement avant de procéder au nettoyage. 3. Soulever le couvercle de la cafetière et retirer le porte-filtre amovible par la poignée.
28 Décalcification de la cafetière 1. Placer un filtre en papier dans le porte-filtre amovible. Veiller à ce que le porte-filtre soit bien remis en place dans la cafetière. 2. Remplir le pot à café d’une dose de vinaigre pour trois d’eau froide.
