DESCRIPTION The Royal Cheltenham glass fronted high efficiency live fuel effect inset gas fire has been developed from the successful Roy al Cozy fires LFE using much of the techno logy and components used in the manufacture of thi s appliance.

DISMANTLING TH E F IRE BED F OR CLEANING (see fig.3, 4 & 5) Allow the appl iance to cool for 1 hour before handling an y components. Remov e the controls cover and unscrew the two wing screws securi ng the canopy in place as shown in (fig 3). L ift the canopy off the appliance and place to one side.
COAL LAYING INSTRUCTION S Lay the four front coals diagonally with the stepped corner si tting on th e simulated coal front and t he small corner notch at the rear. L a y a further row of four coal s behi nd the front r ow with stepped corners in the rear corners of the front row, the two centre coals having no tches in the rear top corners.
Note: Should any ‘coals’ or the coal bed become damaged, lost or broken, only the correct replacem en ts must be obtained and fit ted before the appl iance is used. E xtra ‘coals’ etc. mu st not be added to the coal bed. The coal bed must alway s be assemb led as detai led.

INSTALLATION REGULATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS I n the interests of both the Law and of Safety , this appliance must only be installed by a competent person in accordance with the current Gas S afety (Installation and Use) Regulations or the rules in force and the manufacturer’ s instructions.

INSTALLATION OF THE APP LIANCE Check that th e chimney conforms to the required specifications as previ ously stated. Exam ine t he conditi on and carry out any remedial work, if the flue has been used for solid fuel it should be swept and a smoke test carried out to check that sati sfactory smoke clearance has been established.

CHECKING OP ERATION OF F IRE Purge the air from the appliance by rotating the control to the ignition position, push the control to allow the air in the pipework to be purged, push the piezo to ignite the Oxy /pilot. Check that the electrode is sparking between the tip of the thermocouple and continue until a pilot flame has been established.
Complete the registration section at the end of this booklet. Advise that any component part of this appliance be guaranteed ag ainst defective workmanship or faulty materials for a period of twelve months from the date of purchase.
