System Requirements Macintosh Installation This sectio n describes how to install the softw are, and how to config ure it for common applicatio n scenarios.
5 You are a sked to re-ent er your Us er ID. 6 T ype in “1000” again, and then click OK. The Inst allation Opt ions dialo g appears. 7 Click OK. The ne xt scree n prompts you f or the ty pe of inst allation and t he location to whic h you wa nt to ins tall the s oftware.
6 15 Double-Click on the AdobePS Installe r Icon. The Adobe Printer Driv er installer is launched. 16 Click Continue . 17 If y ou accept the terms of the L icense , cl ick Accept . The ne xt wind ow prompt s you fo r a locati on to i nstall th e Adobe PostScrip t Instal ler.
7 After th e instal lation fi nishes y ou are asked whether o r not yo u want to r estart your com puter. 19 Click R estar t. The software in stallation is now complete. Before printing, howev er; you will need to add a se tup and then go to the ch ooser an d select th e appr opriate p rinter des cripti on.
8 25 Click Setup. Y ou a re promp ted to select a PPD (PostScript printe r descr iption). 26 Locate the PPD for the output device you are using (AmPC600.ppd), highlig ht it. Then click Select. Y ou will find it in the System Folder/Printer Description fo lder .
9 Ge ttin g Sta rte d To start the Roland COLORCHOIC E Software, double click the icon lab eled RCC for ColorCAMM located in the RCC for ColorCAMM Software folder. The Pri nt Monit or disp lays whe n you start th e softwar e. You ca n contro l every facet o f job man agement from the Print Monitor.
10 Media Size - Select a m edia size that is cur rently loaded in to your printer. Yo u can sp ecify cus tom media sizes by selecting other from the list and th en editing the Height and Width values. Margin- Specify cust om margins , if desir ed. Send- You c an choos e to se nd the Print and the Contour , the Print onl y , or the Contou r only .
11 Screen - The default settings will produc e the best quality possible. We do no t recommend to change the se settings, sinc e changin g them can cau se unev en colors .
12 Colo r Mode- Select either CMYK, CMY KOrGr, CM Y or Grayscal e accord ing to th e ribbo n set in y our print er. Also you can select between Res in and Wax ribbons . • CMYK is four-col or printing with Cya n, Magent a, Yello w, and Blac k ribbon.
13 Cut tab The Cut tab displays cut settings. Resolution- Chang ing this v alue from the default is n ot recommended. Passes- Specify how many times the blade will move over each line. Curve Quality- Select ho w smooth you would l ike the curves t o be.
14 Color Ad just tab The Col or tab dis plays set tings associated w ith the color qual ity of t he image. Usi ng the s liders on t he tab, yo u can adjust the image quality. The sliders th at appear vary, depending on which color mode is s elected on the Print tab.
15 3 T o send a jo b to the p rinte r , select the job from th e print q ueue and then sel ect Pri nt from th e File m enu. The job prints. In addition to specifying ho w a job will print using the Printer and Job Properties dialog boxes, you c an access a number of print settings d irectly from your design application.
16 Deleting Jobs from the Print Monitor You ca n delete j obs or group s of jobs fr om the P rint Monitor by select ing them and then cl icking th e Delete b utton from the to olbar. 1 Select the job or jobs that you want to delete by select ing them in the Print Monit or window .
17 Saving Jobs in Native Format Once a job has b een printed , you may wan t to save the RI Ped file so that you can reprint it w ithout havin g to RIP the file again. Saving a file as Native format, with a .prt extens ion, allows you to save RIPed files for reprinting.
18 Setting Job Properties Job Prop erties offer an addition al level o f control. Yo u can acc ess Job Propertie s by clicki ng on a job in th e Print Monit or, and th en select ing Job P ropert ies fro m the File menu. Ma ny of the settings in the Job P ropert ies tabs are al so contain ed in th e Setup Pro perties d ialog.
19 Send - you can specif y to send th e print and the co ntour, the print on ly, or the contour only. The Print tab The Prin t tab set tings are ident ical to t he setti ngs on the Print tab o f the Setup Propert ies di alog box . See “Prin t tab” on page 10.
20 The Colo r Adjust tab The Color Adjust ta b setting s are ident ical to the se ttings on the Color Adj ust tab of th e Setup Proper ties di alog box.
21 Advanced Printin g Procedures If your program is not listed, refer to a sec tion on a similar program. Illustrator 7 ColorSync 2.x and Kodak Digit al Science must be installed when using Illustrator to cr eate CMYK files. 1 From the R oland COLORCHOICE Print Mo nitor click Setup>Setup Proper ties .

To use such features, you have to install and use special color libraries in your design application such as Illust rator or QuarkXpres s.
