4 P RECA UTIONS I NST ALLA TION INST ALLA TION CONSIDERA TIONS The following is a list of tools needed f or installation: V olt/Ohm Meter Wire stripper s Wire crimper s Wire cutter s #2 Phillips screw.
5 I NST ALLA TION This section focuses on some of the vehicle considerations for installing your new Source Unit. Pre-planning your system la yout and best wiring routes will save installation time. When deciding on the lay out of your new system, be sure that each component will be easily accessible for making adjustments.
6 I NST ALLA TION Glov e Bo x Mounting the source unit in the glov e box is adequate, but does not provide easy access. Glove bo x mounting should only be done if “Instr ument Panel” or ”Center Console , ” mounting is not acceptable (i.e ., maintaining integrity of older vehicles with metal dashboards.
7 I NST ALLA TION WIRING THE SY STEM NO TE : See diagr am on following page to help you connect y our system. CAUTION : If you do not f eel comfor table with wir ing your new source unit, please see your local Authorized Rockford Fosgate Dealer for installation.
8 I NST ALLA TION DO NO T connect optional CD Changer to this port. DO NO T connect optional Wired Remote to this port..
9 S OURCE U NIT F EA TURES 1. OFF – T ur ns the source unit on and off. 2. DISP – T oggles between diff erent display features in main displa y; when pressed and held for 1 second, toggles clock between hours and minutes. 3. DIR - – Selects the next radio station in TUNER mode and selects the next tr ack in CDP/CDX mode.
INITIAL SETUP DET A CHABLE F ACEPLA TE The faceplate is detachable as a theft deterrent. T o Detach the Faceplate: 1. Make sure that the faceplate is in the closed position. NO TE : The faceplate cannot be removed from the faceplate bracket when the bracket is in the open position.
11 O PERA TION – B ASIC SETUP OPTIONS The list below shows the default Setup Options. The br acketed items are the alter nate options contained within each Setup Option. Selecting Options 1. Press and hold the V OLUME knob for about 1 second until the f ir st Option appear s {AMERIC AS}.
12 O PERA TION – B ASIC O PERA TION – T UNER SELECTING A BAND Press the BAND button repeatedly to cycle through FM1, FM2, and AM. The act of selecting the band automatically enables that band. TUNER OPTIONS The bracketed options are alter nate options.
13 O PERA TION – T UNER PRESET BUTT ONS Each T uner mode—FM1, FM2, and AM—has 10 presets for a total of 30 presets. T o Set a Preset Button (for buttons 1 to 6) 1. T une the T uner to the station you wish to program. 2. Press and hold any preset b utton (1 to 6) for fiv e seconds and it will program that setting.
14 O PERA TION – CD P LA YER Basic Operation NO TE : This system will play A UDIO CDs created on a Macintosh NO TE : This system will play CD-R and CD-RW discs. T o Play a CD 1. Press OPEN button and the Front P anel will slide open. 2. Inser t a CD into the slot with the label side facing up.
F orward/Re v erse Press the DIR button and the play er will take y ou to the star t of the same tr ack as long as that tr ack is more than 10 seconds in. If the tr ack is less than 10 seconds in, pressing the DOWN button will take the play er to the beginning of the previous track.
16 RFX 8620M CD Changer Operation (Optional Accessor y) Magazine Eject 1. Slide door open in the direction shown. 2. Press the EJECT button to release the disc magazine from the CD changer . NO TE : The panel will display NO CD , if in CDX mode , then go to AUX1 mode .
17 O PERA TION – W IRED R EMO TE (O PTIONAL ) RFX MR1 Wired Remote Contr ol (Optional Accessor y) CAUTION : T o prevent injur y and/or damage to the unit and/or vehicle, read and follo w all safety precautions. Installation 1. cut a 2" hole into the panel where the controller will be mounted.
18 S YMPT OM D IAGNOSIS R EMED Y Source Unit does not turn on V oltage applied to Red and Y ellow wires is not between 10.8 and 16 volts or there is no voltage present Check batter y , connections and fuses and repair or replace as necessar y .

INST ALLA TION ST AND ARD Installation : • Fixez les verrous du manchon d’installation sur l’appareil (utilisez les vis fournies). • Montez le manchon d’installation dans le tableau de bord. REMARQUE : faites en sor te de monter l’appareil le plus à l’horizontale possible pour assurer des performances de lecteur CD optimales.

9 C ARA CTÉRISTIQUES DE L ’ APP AREIL 1. OFF – Allume et éteint l’appareil. 2. DISP – Alterne entre différentes fonctions dans l’écran pr incipal ; alterne entre les heures et les minutes lor squ’il est enfoncé pendant plus d’une seconde.
PRÉP ARA TION INITIALE F AÇADE DÉMONT ABLE La façade est démontable par mesure de prévention contre le v ol. Pour démonter la façade : 1. Assurez-vous que la façade est en position fermée. REMARQUE : la façade ne peut pas être retirée de son suppor t lor sque celui-ci est en position ouver te .

La sélection d’une bande l’active automatiquement. OPTIONS DU TUNER Les options entre crochets sont des options alternatives.
13 F ONCTIONNEMENT DU TUNER BOUT ONS DE PRÉSÉLECTION Chaque mode T uner — FM1, FM2 et AM — compor te 10 présélections, ce qui donne un total de 30 présélections. Pour régler un bouton de présélection (boutons 1 à 6) 1. Syntonisez la station que vous désirez programmer .
14 F rançais F ONCTIONNEMENT DU LECTEUR CD F onctionnement de base REMARQUE : ce système peut lire les cd audio créés sur ordinateur PC ou Macintosh. REMARQUE : ce lecteur lit les disques CD-R et CD-RW . Lecture d’un CD 1. Appuyez sur le bouton OPEN et le panneau a vant s’ouvre.
15 F ONCTIONNEMENT DU LECTEUR CD A vance/Retour Appuyez sur le bouton DIR et le lecteur recommence au début de la même piste à condition que celle-ci ait débuté depuis plus de 10 secondes. Si c’est moins de 10 secondes, le bouton DOWN fait reculer le lecteur jusqu’au début de la piste précédente.
