As long as e lectrici ty, water, and gas supplies are co n nected, ho t wa ter is available when hot water taps are open.
12 Excessively hot water is dangerous, espe cially for young c hildren and the infirm. The water hea ter allows y ou to control th e temperatu r e of y our hot water to safe levels . Do stay with children whenever th ey are in the bat hroom. Do take them out of th e bathroom if you need to answer the phone or door.

14 Rinnai Infinity produc ts have no pilot light and when install ed without Temperature Controllers, t he appliance will operate a uto ma tically as soon as a hot wate r tap is opene d. The burne r ignites wi th electronic ig nition and the flame extinguishes as soon as wate r flow ing throug h the appliance stops.
15 TEMPERA TURE CONTROLS - GENERAL When d ecidin g on th e best positi on for t he tempe rature c ontrol s, the f ollowing points should be ta ken into acco unt. • Fit the controls out of reach of children (sug gested height from the floor 1.5m .) • Avoid positi ons wher e the con troller s will bec ome hot.

18 TEMPERA TURE CONTROLS The purpose of a Temperat ure Controller is to e nable the user to have complete c ontrol over the hot wa ter supply. Used corre c tly, t h e hot water unit will supply hot w ater at the temper ature se lected, even when the water flow is vari ed, or when more than one tap is used.
19 Remote tempe ra ture controllers are a f eature that prov ides control over the water temperatu r e. Rinnai Infinity wate r heaters ca n be operate d with 1, 2, 3, 4 or no te mper atur e co ntr oll ers. The Un ive rsa l con tro lle r MC- 91-1 A comes as stan dard with all Infinity water heate rs.
20 TEMPERA TURE CONTROLS - OPERA TING Using 1 Uni v ersal T emperature Controller . Press the On/O ff bu tton on the temp erature co ntroller . The O N indica tor will glow on th e Temp erature C ontrolle r. This in dicates that t he heater is ready to su pply hot wate r when a tap is opened.
21 Using 2 or more Uni v ersal T emperature Controllers. Switching the system ON. Using hot water. Bathroom temperatures should be no more than 50 0 C. The ho t wate r system an d all controller s can be switched ON and OFF from any controller by pressing the On/Of f button as show n.
22 Using 4 Universal T emperature Controllers. You will need to activate the fo u rth controller. To turn the system off sim p ly press the On/O ff butto n on any temperat ure contro ller (where fitted). This will shut the water heate r down comple tely including t he temperat ure contro ller digital display.
25 TEMPERA TURE CONTROLS - INFORMA TION Do not push the On/O ff button on the Master cont r oller aft er transferring prio rity of tem peratur e sele ction t o a Secon dary controller as the system will shut down.
26 TESTING 1. Purge gas, hot wate r and cold w ater supply lines b efore making the final co nnection of the water heater. Swarf in either the gas or water supplie s m ay cause dama ge. 2. T urn on gas and cold water supplies. 3. Test for wa ter leaks a nd gas esc apes nea r the unit.
27 GAS PRESSURE SETTING The working gas pressur e on t he water heater i s electronically c ontrolled and factory set. Under normal circums tances it does no t require adjust ment during installation. Perform this procedu re only if the unit is not operatin g correctly and all other pos sible caus es for incorrect op eration have bee n eliminated.
