- 1 - Follow the advice below for safe and appropriate operations. On Placement Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty , or humid.
- 2 - The lightning flash with an arrowhead symbol, within the equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute an electric shock to persons.
- 3 - Power cord Connection 1. Make sure that all the components and speakers are connected correctly. 2. Check that the rated voltage of your unit matches your local voltage. Caution To prevent electrical shock, match wide blade of plug to wide slot, fully insert.
- 4 - Important Switch off the power before connecting speakers and other equipment. Speaker Cord Connections Connect the Red wires to the Red (+) terminals and the Black wires to the Black (-) terminals. Note: Connecting speakers other than the speakers supplied with the unit, may damage the unit.

- 6 - ADJUSTING THE SOUND WHEN RECORDING During tape recording, adjustments to the VOLUME and SOUND MODE controls will not effect the recorded signal. TO USE THE X-BASS Press the SOUND MODE button repeatedly, so that "X-BASS" appears on the display window.
- 7 - SETTING THE CL OC K 1. In standby mode, hold the SHIFT and press the CLOCK button. 5. Press the SET/PAUSE button. 6. Press the SKIP / buttons to adjust the hour. 7. Press the SET/PAUSE button. To see the time display: Hold the SHIFT and press the CLOCK buttons.
- 8 - SLEEP OPERATION The tuner, CD, tape and AUX can all be turned off automatically. 1. Playback the desired sound source. 2. Press the SLEEP button, so that SLEEP is displayed.
- 9 - AM Connect the loop aerial (provided) to the 'AM LOOP ANTENNA' snap terminals at the back of the unit. FM Fully unwind the wire antenna. Then extend the wire antenna and place it in the position that sounds best. NOTE: Do not connect to an outside antenna.
- 10 - PRESETTING ST A TIONS 1. Press the FUNCTION button to TUNER. 2. Press the DISPLAY/BAND button to select a band. 3. Tune into a station. 4. Press the PAUSE/SET button to store the station.
- 11 - DELETE THE PRESET ST A TION 1. Press the FUNCTION button to TUNER. 2. Select a preset station you want to remove. 3. Display the frequency band and frequency: Press the STOP button, so that the frequency is flashing. 4. While the frequency is flashing, press the SET/ PAUSE button to delete the preset station.
- 12 - 1. Press the FUNCTION button to CD. 2. Press the CD OPEN/CLOSE button to open the disc tray. 7. Press the PLAY button to start playback. To interrupt playback Press the II PAUSE/SET button and ' ' will be displayed. Press this button again to resume playing.
- 13 - LOCATING A PARTICULAR POINT IN A TRACK Press it once Note : Searching and skipping can be done during playback or pause stage but are effective for the currently selected disc only.
- 14 - COMP ACT DISC OPERA TION 2. Hold the SHIFT and press the numbered buttons 1-5 to select which disc for playback. PROGRAM PLAY You can play back the tracks on the CDs in the disc 1-5 positions in any order desired. By specifying the disc numbers from 1 to 5 and the tracks numbers from 1 to 99.
- 15 - COMP ACT DISC OPERA TION FAVORITE store Notes You can not use the FAVORITE play if it does not set the Favorite store. The favorite store up to 9 tracks can be played in preset order. The favorite store can not store same track. To cancel favorite function Press the CD OPEN/CLOSE button and press it again.
- 16 - 1. Press the FUNCTION button to TAPE. 2. Press the STOP/EJECT button and load a cassette into the cassette compartment of Deck A or Deck B. 4. Press the PAUSE button. 2. Insert a cassette in each deck. When the tape reaches its end During fast wind or regular play, the tape will stop automatically when its end is reached.
- 17 - 1. Cassette tapes have two erase-protection tabs - one for each side. To protect a recording from being accidentally recorded over or erased, use a screwdriver to remove one or both of the cassette tape's erase-protection tabs. 4. Press the PAUSE button .
- 18 - 2. Insert a tape into the cassette compartment. 4. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button of the CD player. TO INSTALL BATTERIES 1 . Open the battery door. RECORDING ---- DECK A ONL Y TO ERASE A RECORDED TAPE 1. Press the FUNCTION button to TAPE. 2. Insert a tape with the side you want to erase facing you.
- 19 - CAUSE (AND REMEDY) Press the VOLUME UP button. The headphones are connected. Disconnect them. Reset the unit by pressing the Power/Standby switch. Suddenly OFF when playing, the TIMER OFF function is activated. Press the STOP button until the 'TIMER OFF' indicator shows on the display.
