6 DOUBLE INSULA TION Double insulation is a concept in safety in electric power tools, which eliminates the need for the usual three-wire grounded power cord. All exposed metal parts are isolated from the internal metal motor components with protecting insulation.
7 FEA TURES Before using this tool, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety requirements. However , do not let famil- iarity with the tool make you careless. This new drill is equipped with the following features. See Figure 1. SINGLE SPEED REVERSIBLE SWITCH This drill has a single speed rocker-type switch.

9 W ARNING: The tool should never be connected to a power supply when you are assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, performing maintenance, or when the tool is not in use. Disconnecting the tool will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious injury .
10 ASSEMBL Y Fig. 4 TO INST ALL BITS See Figure 4. Unplug the drill. Insert the chuck key and twist counterclockwise as shown in figure 4. Insert the drill bit into the chuck the full length of the jaws. W ARNING: Do not insert drill bit into chuck jaws and tighten as shown in figure 5.
11 OPERA TION WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating this tool. Failure to do so could result in dust, shavings, or loose particles being thrown into your eyes, resulting in possible serious injury. SWITCH See Figure 6.
12 DRILLING See Figures 8 and 9. Attach auxiliary handle (except for very light duty jobs) Depress and release the switch trigger to be sure the drill is in the OFF position before connecting it to power sup- ply . Secure the material to be drilled in a vise or with clamps to keep it from turning as the drill bit rotates.
13 MAINTENANCE Fig. 10 CHUCK REMOV AL See Figure 10, 1 1, and 12. The chuck must be removed in order to use some accesso- ries. T o remove: Unplug the drill. Open chuck jaws using the provided chuck key . Insert a 3/8 inch (10 mm) or larger hex key wrench into the chuck of the drill and tighten the chuck jaws securely .
