RCA easyRip™ Media Sof tware lets you import music files from CDs and other sources, or ganize your music library, and transfer unpr otected MP3 and WMA files to and fr om this player .
17 Connecting to the computer • Connect the player to y our computer with the USB cable provided . The player will turn on automatically . • The player will be connected in MSC (Mass Storage Class) mode . It will appear as a drive letter on your computer and behave as a detachable driv e for file transf er in one or both directions.
18 • It may take several seconds for the play er to be detected. Click V iew -> Refresh in My Computer or Windows Explorer to make sur e the player has been detected. • The player is capable of transf erring files at USB 2.0. If a USB 2.0 port is available on your computer , use it to connect to your player .
19 Managing files on your RCA Pla yer Before y ou begin using your RCA play er , you’ll want to cop y your media files to the play er . Y ou can use any of the following methods to transf er content.
Using W indows Explorer T o copy files in MSC mode: 1. Open the player in Windows Explorer . 2. Drag and drop music files into the Music folder; phot o files int o the Photo folder; video files into the Video folder and t ext file to the T ext folder .
21 General controls T urning the player on and off T urn player on/off : Press and hold button for a moment. Lock or unlock the t ouch screen and key Lock/ Unlock play er controls: P ress and hold Hom.
22 Using the menus The Home menu The top-level or “Home ” menu is always displayed when you pr ess the Home button. The menu options are: Audio Select to star t audio playback, and choose an artist, album, genre, individual title or recorded files.
23 Settings Select to enter the Settings menu, which lets you: • Display the firmwar e version, space used, and spac e available • Set date and time • Change the language of the player’ s menu.
24 Playing music files Fr om the Home menu select Audio . T ap Librar y to navigate thr ough the Audio Library. The player sorts your audio files by track name (title), artist, album, genre and recorded files. Select the desired item and tap Play t o start playback or tap Now Playing to return to the no w playing screen.
25 Video • Video files must be con verted to the optimal format for pla yback on this player . The RCA easyRip Media Sof tware conv erts the video files automatically before transferring to the player . "File f ormat is not supported!" will be displayed if the video file is not conv erted by the RCA easyRip .
