9 Switch on Press PLA Y/PA USE General controls Operation modes There are thr ee basic modes for operating the camcorder: Video, Photo and Playback. The camcorder will always enter into Video mode after switched on. Refer to the diagram below f or switching between modes and read relevant sections in the user manual for detailed operations.
10 Video mode Recording videos 1. In V ideo mode ( ), press the red REC ORD button to begin rec ording. Video mode • If you are not in Video mode , press the red RECORD button once to enter Video mode ( ) and then press the button again to begin video recording .
11 T aking photos 1. In Photo mode ( ), press PHOT O to take photos. Photo mode • The resolution of the photos is 8.0 mega pix el*. • If you are not in Photo mode, pr ess PHOT O once to enter Photo mode ( ) and then press the button again to take photos.
12 Playback mode Playing back rec ordings 1. Press PLA Y/P AUSE to enter Playback mode and start playback of the most recent recording (video/photo). Playback indicator Current file number/T otal number of files Elapsed playback time 2. Press + or – during pla yback to adjust volume (video only).
13 Deleting Deleting recor dings 1. Press DELETE and the last recor ding and “DELETE ?” appear on the screen. • T o select another video, press or to cue the previous or next video. 2. Press and hold DELETE until the selected video is deleted. T o delete all videos, press & hold DELETE for 3 seconds and then repeat step 2.
14 Connecting to external devices Viewing videos on T V 1. Plug in the A V cable (provided) – Inser t the single connector end into the camcorder (A V jack) and connect the double connector ends to the corresponding video (yello w) and audio (white) input jacks on the T V .
