If your DVD player has an S-Video output, you can make the video connection by using the S-Video jacks instead.

Connect either the FIXED or V ARIABLE AUDIO OUTPUT from the TV to an A/V receiver using audio cables. • FIXED provides fixed-level audio output from the TV . Connections & Setup 16 Chapter 1 The Fr ont of Y our TV Front Inputs The TV has front inputs for convenience: one set of audio/video inputs, and a headphone jack. Look for a hinged door and open the cover . Please note the illustration below shows a typical front input layout.

Connections & Setup 20 Chapter 1 Step 3: Configuring for Cable The next series of screens asks you about your cable setup. T o supply your TV with the correct TV program listings, the GUIDE Plus+ system needs to know if your TV is connected to cable.
Connections & Setup Chapter 1 21 6. Look at your cable box. If it is still on and changed to channel 09, the test was successful. Highlight Yes, and press OK. If the cable box did not change to channel 9, highlight No . If you select No , the system will try another code.

(Answering No automatically skips to the end of GUIDE Plus+ setup.) 2. Use the up and down arrow buttons to highlight the brand of your VCR that is connected to the TV and press OK.

The following examples explain what you might see: • If all of the program information has been sent to your TV , the GUIDE Plus+ system appears with all of your TV program listings.

26 Chapter 2 Using the Remote Contr ol The Buttons on the Remote Contr ol (0-9) Number Buttons Enter channel numbers and time settings directly through the remote control. They are also used in the GUIDE Plus+ system and in the TV menu to make selections.

Pr ogramming the Remote to Operate Other Components The universal remote can be programmed to operate most brands of remote controllable components. The remote is already programmed to operate most RCA, GE, and PROSCAN components.

Using the TV ’ s Featur es 34 Chapter 3 About the GUIDE Plus + System The GUIDE Plus+ system is an interactive on-screen program guide that lists TV schedules for your area and allows your TV direct control of a cable box and/or VCR.
