C HAPTER 2: I NSTALLATION 1 Chapter 2: Installation Getting Started MasterConsole II is designed for quick, easy installati on and op eration. Follow the steps for either one-tier or two-tier configuration to be up and running within minutes: 1. Install Mast erConsole II (c onnect computers) .
2 M ASTER C ONSOLE II U SER M ANUAL One-Tier and Tw o-Tier Configurations MasterCons ole II can be c onfigured in one or two tie rs, depending on the num ber of computers you want to control. In a one-tier configuration, only computers are connected to a single MasterConsole II unit.
C HAPTER 3: O NE -T IER C ONFIGURATION 3 Chapter 3: One-Ti er Configuration Installation 1. Shut down and power OFF all computers to be connected to Master Console II. 2. Plug a key board, monitor , and mouse into the key board, moni tor, and mouse ports o n the rear panel of the MasterConsole II.

C HAPTER 3: O NE -T IER C ONFIGURATION 5 Configuration The Configur ation Menu is use d to specify you r MasterConsole I I configuration and to set/change operation para meters. 1. Activate on-screen user interf ace by pres sing the hot-key (< Scroll Lock > by defaul t) twice rapidly .

In a tw o-tier configur ation, a mix of devi ces – computers and MasterConsoles – may be connecte d to the channe ls of the first tier- referred to as t he base MasterConsole II.

C HAPTER 4: T WO -T IER C ONFIGURATION 13 Connect Second-Tier MasterConsole(s) to the Base Unit 1. Connect Maste rConsole(s) to any C hannel(s) of the base MasterConsole II. a. Using a Universal cable kit (CCPnn U), plug the 25-pin connector into one of the numbered Channels on the base Master Console II back panel.
